Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was really a beast, or a little beast who was really a girl. She became concerned with whether she might be called a monster, so she asked her friends what they thought."Nae, lass, yer not a monster! Yer jus', eh, different is all!
"Um, no, Mimi. Stop being so hard on yourself, k? Now, if you don't mind, I'm busy right now..."
"Ahaha, dear Mimi. You don't need to go around asking everyone. Only you can know for yourself. Look inside yourself. What do you think?"
Unsatisfied, she went to the wisest person she knew.
"Count, do you think I'm a... monster?"
He was staring out a window into the shifting Void. "We all are monsters, Mimi. We all will bring about destruction somehow, and we all will hurt the ones that we love. That is life, that is the universe as it currently stands. To live is to be a monster."

I finally settled on a design for True Mimi. Her ribs, instead of connecting back into her sternum, burst out of her chest to form her spider legs. Her sternum is actually a Rubee; in fact, that's where they form, right in the middle of her chest near her heart, and they can also be shot out from there. They are the crystallization of her lifeblood, literally.
What happened to the rest of her legs? Well, they're caught in the process of emerging right now!

Aww, thanks. It's comments like this that encourage me to keep uploading my own spin on things. However, I'm not one to be bitter. I enter contests because it's simply a good challenge to do the best I can, try something new, and compare my interpretations with other people's, but not in a "Who's better or worse?" type of way. People liked this picture, and that's good enough for me, because a more macabre interpretation might not always be appreciated. Thanks again!

The Count's words are so very true, indeed, look around and you'll find a surprisingly large presence of monsters, everywhere I look, I can see even the faintest traces of sorrow and anguish, but shockingly enough, all we can do is move forward, so, there really isn't any point in looking back, only to wish that the future will be kind.

Indeed. If the Count himself had learned that whole "moving on" thing , he wouldn't have had to mess with the whole destroying-all-existence business, as that's always a bit of a stressor and more complicated than you might think. But SPM would never have happened, sad for all of us fanatics.
