Um, question on Permian fauna: how long did the Griffinflies last into the area? Didn't they get pretty far? If so, why didn't they die off like the other giant Carboniferous Arthropods dependent on an oxygen-rich atmosphere?

Yes, reasonably large griffinflies existed in the Upper Permian. Bechly (2004) suggests a lack of vertebrate aerial predators allowed griffinflies to grow large. Others suggest air densityΒ may also have an affect on insect size as well as oxygen levels. But over all, we don't know.Β

Ah, makes sense. How far did they make it, though, up to the extinction or did they die off sometime beforehand? Are there other giant Permian bugs?

Think that there was only large griffinfly in the Permian. Other than that, I dunno.

Question, where do you find the font to make the Saurian-like title?

I actually posted the idea for this exact gameplay in my journals.

this would be a super interesting game
i feel like the only issue would be wouldn't it be hard to research as it is MUCH before the dinosaurs?
that and who would you play as, i can see a gorgonopsid and that other one (can't remember the name of the white head here) but who else?

I'm actually quite curious to how such a game would play.
Could work.

Indeed I did, but I still haven't played itΒ Β
because the game doesn't exist.
