Remix of my latest piece, Destruct [link] . I think this one is much more interesting than the first design, but what i really want to know is what YOU think.EDIT: Removed the glow. I think it looks better this way. My indecisiveness will be the death of me I'm sure.

I like this better than the first one. The colors really work together and with the black background, it draws me in. First one was too simple.
I also understand your "indecisiveness" ...it's like changing things in attempt to make it better. I guess you've made a good choice!

Yeah it's difficult. Because even once you've made the decision there's always that thing in the back of your mind saying maybe the other way was better in the first place. Anyway thanks for the input man.

very cool, great color choice, the black works well because it kinda hides the shapes but not too much, makes the colors stand out more. very cool.

Much better, this one is a LOT more eye-catching, and cleverly mind-boggling!
I was staring at it, and my mind was working desperately to find the shapes, to find the lines that separated the squares from one another; it's difficult not to just sit and stare at it.

I prefer the white background and I think the colours look more saturated and 'happy.' This one, I think the black doesn't suit the colours as well.

You think so? I dunno I did try to convey a different mood with this one, darker sort of. I felt like the previous one was almost too happy. And I thought the colours worked quite well personally, but that's just my opinion. I'm glad you like the other one better in a way, lets me know it's still good, even though I made a different version that I like better. Thanks for the imput!

I wouldn't say it's better than destruct, just a different take. Set's a different mood. If the viewer is in the same mood, or complimentary mood, it will seem better or interesting. The reverse could also be true.
I think that's why some pieces grow on us, we just weren't in the mood at first.

Yeah it wasn't so much an improvement of the idea because it's exactly the same style really. Just a different take, as you said. The main improvement is many more shapes, I think Destruct was just too simple in design for me. I dunno it was at the back of my head since i submitted it, that's why i made this one. I will tell you that this took me about 9 hours to complete, doesn't look it but I went about it the worst way possible so it took much longer to complete. I am happy with it though.
So which of the two do you prefer?

Like I said, depends on my mood. I do like the contrast of black triangles ending the growth of colorful squares. This one gives me more of a somber feeling. It's tone is more even, it's bright colors are even toned down and subdued. So, depending on my mood, It would be more likely that the first would be my favorite. As I do like contrast that hit's me, or takes me on a ride.

I noticed the glow. It made it even softer I guess. Took away the contrast it could have had. So much of it is subjective. It's hard, bro. LOL! It's art!

All I got is an opinion, and I think that most of the time that's our best tool. In the end you have to decide what you like the most and push that to the extreme. Sell your perspective, make us understand why you think it's a masterpiece threw your work. Not everyone will get it, just so long as you do. That's the most important I think.

Alright, I got a suggestion for you that I would like to see. I , as in my opinion, would like the colors brighter in the centers of the squares. Like, near white gradient to it's color on the edges. I like more contrast. These colors are too soft for me. But, what the heck do I know?!

Hmm well I removed the glow completely. So, I dunno. I don't think i'll add glow or gradients anymore, just flat colours now. Works better within the continuity of the previous submission as well. Haha sorry man. Just can't make you happy can I! In all seriousness though don't stop providing your opinion and suggestions because it's great to have someone to give you feedback that you can bounce your ideas off. Thanks a bunch.
