Description Anemone appenina is the smaller sister of Anemone blanda, the Greek Anemone, and native to Italy, Sicily, Corsica (where it is called Cunnaciula), Albania and the countries of former Yugoslavia. Like the Greek Anemone it occurs in two color forms, in white and blue. This is the very beautiful blue form 'Petrovac' which was originally found in Croatia.

Yes! Close to sunset (when the pic was taken), there's a large amount of red light in the sun rays, so the flowers look quite violet.
