Second part of rp~

But her dreams were less than pleasant, her eyes would open and she found herself shrouded in darkness. She tried to yell for someone but no words would come out, not even a sound. No matter where she looked she only see darkness. Panic started to take her as she ran as fast as she could, trying to find something or some light. Though her running seemed meaningless as it got her no where. She sat back as tears started to form, til she looked up as a shadow manifested into her father. Then another was her mother. Melody smiled, and tried to speak again, but still nothing. She tried running to them and hug them, but she only went through them. Melody just wanted to be held by them again, so why couldn't she now. When she turned she was suddenly in her home again, her mother looking distressed as her father was saying his final farwells, like he did exactly just before he disappeared for good. Melody realised it was a memory, but still tried to stop her father from leaving, even though her effort changed nothing. Melody couldn't take the emotional trama and backed up, nearly slipping off an edge til she caught herself, but still hung over the edge. She was at the mountain again, her mother standing over her. Melody begged to be lifted up to safety, even if she didn't have a voice, but her mother did nothing other than shed tears. Melody didn't understand anything or why this was happening, but she saw the rockslide coming down from the mountain tops, once again coming directly for her mother. Melody screamed, trying to tell her mother to get out of the way as she tried to pull herself up. Only to feel chains start to wrap around her, forcing her to fall, but she faught against it, trying desperately to save her mother. Her mother only said i love you before the rockslide toppled and crushed her mother. Melody, completely horrified, screamed once more for her mother before the chains became too strong for her and forced her to fall. In reality, her body only tossed and turned til the sun rose over the horizon, starting the new day, til Melody awoke with a jolt and a horrified look on her face as her fur was puffed out and she hyperventilated.

Arthur had slept with tremors, whispering incoherent names and his lips would twitch to faint snarls. It was nothing he'd dare to share, though even if he did he couldn't remember what it was-as it was merely an empty realm of bubbles. He could only make out bubbles and the sound of crashing waves. A soft voice and a cool slimy green...someone constantly whispering it's okay
He'd only start to feel odd when itd get fuzzy, he'd feel the jump of something by his side and he'd hear the hard breathing.
Arthur stirred with a soft breath, looking over only to pull the pup into his chest and hug her there. He'd hum and coo and shush gently as she'd be panicked. "Honey easy...easy hon..it's okay". He'd look over at the door quietly as he'd try calming melody, frowning. "Just breath sweetie, it's okay...hey, before I go I, need to know what your mama looks like" he'd whisper after awhile. He'd not realized until then that he had no idea what he needed to look for, if they were even still around.

Melody shook in fear, her dreams still vivid in her mind as she nuzzles Arthur a bit, remembering where she was and how Arthur was gonna help her brought her down a bit and she was able to calm down.
"S-shes white as snow, with a light purple hue to her fur and most of her wings. They were feathered and really big! She's just as soft as your bed, and she's very sweet person. She has my eye color too!" describing her mom made her feel a bit better, and hoped that she was still alive at least, much to what her dream has shown her. And her tail wagged a bit as her wings did a slight flutter since her back and wings were the most sore.

Arthur listened carefully and nodded, gently petting at the pup as she had calmed down some. Hearing about her mother's colors made him wonder if she were some hybrid of sorts, seeing melody made him really wonder.
He would look her in the eye as she flapped a little and give her a small smile. "I'll look around then, she sounds real pretty melody-shouldn't be hard to spot. I'm guessing she's a snowie too" he'd murmur.
Arthur would take a minute before he'd get up and set out food, taking a nap with him. "I'll be back, you may explore but be careful alright? Don't want to make yourself hurt again"

Melody smiled, got up and ran to one of his limbs and nuzzled against it showing her thanks "thank you for helping.." she spoke softly, her gaze at the ground before she realised something was off. Where was her papa's gem necklace? She wasn't wearing it anymore! Melody gasped as she felt her neck repeatedly "No!...no no no" how could she not realised earlier? Where could it be? Was the pain that distracting to not realise she wasn't wearing it? Melody frantically looked around then started to paw at the bed wondering if it was hiding in the wool or feathers "not my necklace please..they couldn't have took it.." tears started to form as she felt scared and upset losing the one thing that she had left of her father

Arthur smiled warmly to the pups quick grab at his legs, his heart fuzzy as he'd look towards the door. He wasn't sure how the woman would react if he found her, or if he'd find her at all. Her movements and frantic search made him perk his ears and raise his brows curiously. "What's wrong melody?" He'd ask softly, coming over to look at the bed before started to cry. Necklace?
He'd pull her in to try letting her calm down, shooshing as he'd sigh a little. "Honey what does it look like? Maybe it fell off when you fell? I'll see if it's there while I look for your mama" he would suggest lightly, taking his wrapped items in his teeth so he could head to the door. He'd wait first to get some idea of what it looked like

The embrace helped as she sniffled a bit "I...it's a golden necklace...with a red gem on it...papa said it was special, to never lose it or get it taken away...it's the only thing I got left of him before he left me and mama...he hasn't been back in many months.." she explained softly, missing her parents dearly now "please find it, if you don't the bad guys will, then I'll never see it again.." Melody sniffled more as she leaned against him

He'd pay on her gently as she described the necklace and situation it was in, he found look distant with mild worry-what kind of responsibility did this man put on this child?? If it's really so valuable that is.
He'd would shoosh her and lean down to eye level, offering a nuzzle as he'd let go.
"I'll find your stuff melody, you just stay here okay? If it's git that much sentimentality..."

Melody stared at Arthur's chocolate orbs for a good moment, a small tear streaming from one of her eyes as she nodded and put her paws on his hand "I won't go anywhere til you've returned...please be careful...they may still be out there looking for me and mama...they are pure fire dragons like you, three of them. they chased us all the way from our island to here..please be careful" She gave a soft whimper as she begged, she lost her father and can't find her mother, she didn't want to lose anyone else who was willing to look after her

Arthur smiled a moment, giving melody an affectionate head bump before he'd move away and towards the door. With her warning he'd lower his ears a moment, looking back at the pretty pup. His dark expression changed to his usual calm warming smile as he'd nod. "I'll find them, if you don't go outside it'd be safe to not let anyone know your here, alright? If you go outside, light the lantern so I know" he gave a mild warning before leaving, though as soon as he was outside he started to jog enough to take flight.
It bothered him that fire islanders were after her necklace, what could it possibly be that got their attention? Why was her family hunted? He'd rummage about his thoughts as he headed for the upper part of the cliff.

Melody stood for a second as she watched Arthur leave, then she ran over to the door, trying to find a way to peer out the window and watch him fly off. She felt excited that she was going to hopefully see her mother again and get her gem back. But excitement changed to worry as she wondered if Arthur was going to be ok. "Be safe.." she spoke softly, gazing out the window for a moment more before she went off to enjoy her breakfast Arthur set out for her.

When he reached the cliff it looked like a tragic accident happened. Piles of rocks stacked on one another on the cliff. One thing was certain though, the fowl smell of death reeked more the closer he got to the cliff.

Arthur didn't take long to get there, though it felt like hours with his clouded thoughts.
What lie before him made him heart hurt, the smell and rocks had a rare heavy frown latch onto his cheeks.

"Ohh..oh kid"
He'd come a little closer to try inspecting the area, but couldn't handle much of it as he'd end up flying down to where he found her.
It was fairly evident someone died here, her mother he'd be certain but hoped not. "Poor woman..so much suffering here" he'd murmur a small wish of peaceful passing as he'd look in the brush for anything shiny. If he couldn't bring the mother back, he had to bring the necklace.

Upon closer inspection it was apparent that this accident was not a natural occurance someone caused this rockslide that ended up taking her mom's life. Some feathers stuck out from some rock openings, and definantly looked like this happened two three days ago. There seemed to have been others that that had been there due to more than two sets of prints left in the ground, indicating that they were probably searching for any survivors. When below the cliff where Melody was found the necklace was no where in sight. It almost seemed that Arthur was going to be coming back empty handed. Then something bright shined in his eyes, causing him to look up and see the very necklace Melody described hanging on the edge of a tree branch. Once retrieved Arthur noticed why this jewelry could of been what those fire islanders were after it, the gem wasn't any normal gem, it was an Earth gem that only Earth dragons were capable of having, he could confirm that with the bone that was permanently attached to the backside of the gem.

Arthur would look around awhile, the scene made his stomach turn to the point finding the necklace lifted his worries, if only a little. What kind it was, was so very special-he put it carefully in his bandana and made sure it was wrapped up to not fall. Staying still he'd hold a hand to it a moment, concern in his mind but he held a calm distant expression. "...who are you, who did you come from? Ah kid, ya need somethin.." he'd murmur, realising its hurt melody to know her mother was indeed deceased. He needed proof, so he flew back up and very carefully took one of the pretty long feathers that stuck from the rocks, flying back to the tree. He made a careful mind to take the long route, even using his tunnel. Whoever was after this necklace had no mercy and played dirty even, he couldn't risk being seen going to the tree after being near the cliff.
It would take him a bit longer, but after some time the trap door would rustle, and he'd peek in before climbing up, closing it with a sigh.

Melody was sitting in front of the enterance door, waiting a little impatiently for Arthur's return. If mother returned then she would have to say goodbye to her caretaker, surely there would be no room for the three of them in Arthur's home. But...she almost didn't want to leave, the little time she had with Arthur meant a lot to the young girl, he was super nice and took very good care of her, plus he played really good music and sang better than her own father. Made sure she was going to be ok and fixed her wing that she surely thought was broken after that fall.
Her thoughts stopped when she turned her head when Arthur entered through the trap door, and she jumped to her feet happily and ran to hug Arthur with her tiny paws. "Your back! I was beginning to worry!...Did you find my mother? Is she ok?" she asked after she stepped back from the hug, Melody was a little confused when she didn't see her accompanied with Arthur.

He would grunt lightly with the excited hug, returning a careful one quietly with a small smile. Her words were too sweet, it hurt that he'd need to let her know. Carefully though, but don't lie.
He would let out a soft breath and just carefully look away some, a calm expression blocking some mild discomfort. "Honey....I'm gonna tell you something and I hope you understand." It was barely a whisper, it shook so he took a moment to him and get himself together. Arthur very carefully took the necklace out of his bandana and held it out, but also held a long feather with it. "...melody, I'm afraid your moma isn't coming back. She's at peace now though honey, no need to worry okay?" It would be his usual milky tone with a very slow and careful edge, laying down to get to her level so he could look at her. He'd offer a hug if she wanted, but if she got angry he would need to let go-he'd find her a place to stay if she didn't want to stay there any more. "I'm sorry"

Melody was silent when he spoke, staring only at the feather in his hand. It was definantly hers. She glanced at Arthur before slowly taking the feather in shakey paws and gaze at it more. Her dreams were telling the truth, her mother sacrificed herself to save Melody. Now she was both without a mother and a father, where would she go? Who else could she go to for safety and protection, she surely couldn't survive on her own, not with being hunted down by those gang members.
Tears started to form in her eyes like big pools til the would flow down her cheeks as her body shook. "W..what am I to do now? I...I have no where to go...n..no family to raise me... No mother, o-or fath-" She chocked. Figuring that she wouldn't be able to stay here forever, it was only temporary til her mother was found right? Melody sobbed and let go of the feather and ran to Arthur's arms for that comforting hug "I..I'm scared, I'm all alone now.."

He flatted his ears when she spoke in such a broken voice, the hug she accepted he'd lift her up to fully hug her to him, tuck her into his neck as he'd wrap his wings much like a blanket. It hurt to see such a nice kid like this, with this history. He would rub her back and give gentle nuzzles, shooshing and whispering "it's okay, it's okay honey" repetitively. Arthur didn't know what to do other than move to his nest to Kay down, let her calm down under his wings as he'd frown out the window of the door.

"If you want, I can fix you with a nice family or you can stay with me" thevwords came out quietly though he didn't think too hard on it. He didn't think a child would be comfortable by themself with him, it was rather lonesome aside from the birds or critters. He'd hope he could help, she was too sweet to be so sad. Arthur would cup one of her cheeks after awhile and wipe her tears, gently giving an affectionate head bump before he'd fix his gaze on her own. "When you meet Arty your not alone honey, I'm a friend till the day I die"

She curled as soon as she was picked up by him and layed comfortably while she grieved. It to a long moment of crying tears before she spoke. Melody didn't like the idea of having to go into a different family with dragons she didn't even know. Yeah she didn't know entirely much about Arthur, but she was already comfortable enough to not wanna leave. She shook her head slowly "i..I don't want to go anywhere else...if..if I dont have to.." Her face leaned into his hand as he wiped the tears away, and held onto his wrist with her soft paws. Melody smiled and gave a soft chuckle at his last remark

He would hold her as she cried, petting gently while he waited for her to calm. Her response made his ears perk, looking at her with a little smile. "Well if that's what you want I'd be happy to have a new member here. Welcome home melody" he'd give her forehead a soft peck before nuzzling, laying his head down into the soft feathers and wool.

Hearing that made her smile a bit more, she was happy Arthur was willing to take Melody in. She was glad too that she didn't have to go to a different home, she liked it here a lot. She layed with him while her heart still tugged at the fact she couldn't see her mother anymore, but then looked over at him "do you sing? Do you think you could sing and play a song on your ukulele?" She asked softly and curiously, no longer crying or shedding tears anymore

He would let out a slow sigh as he relaxed into the bedding between the silence, eyes fluttering as he'd feel himself sinking into slow slumber. When she spoke he almost didn't hear, though peeking over he'd smile and go to sit up. "Mhm, I sing almost as much as I play~ hey now, that's a good idea" his ears perked up as he'd turn to grab his ukulele carefully. It would take him a moment to get situated, laying on his back before he'd play the strings. The tune was rather gentle, and after the intro his throat hummed, blooming into a milky lullaby of a tone.

Melody sat up and watched as she listened to him sing and play his song. It definitely helped her feel better as she scooted closer and rested her head on her paws while they were on his lap. She tilted her head while she watched and started humming along to the music that played from his ukulele. Her tail started swaying while she did so, enjoying the song and music that Arthur played

Arthur sang his melody with a soft bounce and warm smile, gazing down to the pup every so often to grin or give her nose a nuzzle. When he finished he seemed to glow with a loving warmth, cheeks dusted as he'd look up to the ceiling to put his ukulele back. It might've only been a moment, but he would curl into himself to snuggle in, his head laying in the nest to look up at melody. "It's my favorite"

Melody smiled, enjoying the nuzzles "I like that one too." she giggled softly, laying down with him after she put on her necklace again, gazing at her gem for a moment she yawned softly

Arthur smiled and closed his eyes, nodding before nuzzling into the bedding. "Well go to the market to get some more food for stock later, I tend to nap a lot. Sleep well melody"

If mother returned then she would have to say goodbye to her caretaker, surely there would be no room for the three of them in Arthur's home. But...she almost didn't want to leave, the little time she had with Arthur meant a lot to the young girl, he was super nice and took very good care of her, plus he played really good music and sang better than her own father. Made sure she was going to be ok and fixed her wing that she surely thought was broken after that fall.
Her thoughts stopped when she turned her head when Arthur entered through the trap door, and she jumped to her feet happily and ran to hug Arthur with her tiny paws. "Your back! I was beginning to worry!...Did you find my mother? Is she ok?" she asked after she stepped back from the hug, Melody was a little confused when she didn't see her accompanied with Arthur.

He would grunt lightly with the excited hug, returning a careful one quietly with a small smile. Her words were too sweet, it hurt that he'd need to let her know. Carefully though, but don't lie.
He would let out a soft breath and just carefully look away some, a calm expression blocking some mild discomfort. "Honey....I'm gonna tell you something and I hope you understand." It was barely a whisper, it shook so he took a moment to him and get himself together. Arthur very carefully took the necklace out of his bandana and held it out, but also held a long feather with it. "...melody, I'm afraid your moma isn't coming back. She's at peace now though honey, no need to worry okay?" It would be his usual milky tone with a very slow and careful edge, laying down to get to her level so he could look at her. He'd offer a hug if she wanted, but if she got angry he would need to let go-he'd find her a place to stay if she didn't want to stay there any more. "I'm sorry"

Melody was silent when he spoke, staring only at the feather in his hand. It was definantly hers. She glanced at Arthur before slowly taking the feather in shakey paws and gaze at it more. Her dreams were telling the truth, her mother sacrificed herself to save Melody. Now she was both without a mother and a father, where would she go? Who else could she go to for safety and protection, she surely couldn't survive on her own, not with being hunted down by those gang members.
Tears started to form in her eyes like big pools til the would flow down her cheeks as her body shook. "W..what am I to do now? I...I have no where to go...n..no family to raise me... No mother, o-or fath-" She chocked. Figuring that she wouldn't be able to stay here forever, it was only temporary til her mother was found right? Melody sobbed and let go of the feather and ran to Arthur's arms for that comforting hug "I..I'm scared, I'm all alone now.."

He flatted his ears when she spoke in such a broken voice, the hug she accepted he'd lift her up to fully hug her to him, tuck her into his neck as he'd wrap his wings much like a blanket. It hurt to see such a nice kid like this, with this history. He would rub her back and give gentle nuzzles, shooshing and whispering "it's okay, it's okay honey" repetitively. Arthur didn't know what to do other than move to his nest to Kay down, let her calm down under his wings as he'd frown out the window of the door.

"If you want, I can fix you with a nice family or you can stay with me" thevwords came out quietly though he didn't think too hard on it. He didn't think a child would be comfortable by themself with him, it was rather lonesome aside from the birds or critters. He'd hope he could help, she was too sweet to be so sad. Arthur would cup one of her cheeks after awhile and wipe her tears, gently giving an affectionate head bump before he'd fix his gaze on her own. "When you meet Arty your not alone honey, I'm a friend till the day I die"

(Alue)
She curled as soon as she was picked up by him and layed comfortably while she grieved. It to a long moment of crying tears before she spoke. Melody didn't like the idea of having to go into a different family with dragons she didn't even know. Yeah she didn't know entirely much about Arthur, but she was already comfortable enough to not wanna leave. She shook her head slowly "i..I don't want to go anywhere else...if..if I dont have to.." Her face leaned into his hand as he wiped the tears away, and held onto his wrist with her soft paws. Melody smiled and gave a soft chuckle at his last remark

He would hold her as she cried, petting gently while he waited for her to calm. Her response made his ears perk, looking at her with a little smile. "Well if that's what you want I'd be happy to have a new member here. Welcome home melody" he'd give her forehead a soft peck before nuzzling, laying his head down into the soft feathers and wool.

(Alue)
Hearing that made her smile a bit more, she was happy Arthur was willing to take Melody in. She was glad too that she didn't have to go to a different home, she liked it here a lot. She layed with him while her heart still tugged at the fact she couldn't see her mother anymore, but then looked over at him "do you sing? Do you think you could sing and play a song on your ukulele?" She asked softly and curiously, no longer crying or shedding tears anymore

He would let out a slow sigh as he relaxed into the bedding between the silence, eyes fluttering as he'd feel himself sinking into slow slumber. When she spoke he almost didn't hear, though peeking over he'd smile and go to sit up. "Mhm, I sing almost as much as I play~ hey now, that's a good idea" his ears perked up as he'd turn to grab his ukulele carefully. It would take him a moment to get situated, laying on his back before he'd play the strings. The tune was rather gentle, and after the intro his throat hummed, blooming into a milky lullaby of a tone.

Melody sat up and watched as she listened to him sing and play his song. It definitely helped her feel better as she scooted closer and rested her head on her paws while they were on his lap. She tilted her head while she watched and started humming along to the music that played from his ukulele. Her tail started swaying while she did so, enjoying the song and music that Arthur played

Arthur sang his melody with a soft bounce and warm smile, gazing down to the pup every so often to grin or give her nose a nuzzle. When he finished he seemed to glow with a loving warmth, cheeks dusted as he'd look up to the ceiling to put his ukulele back. It might've only been a moment, but he would curl into himself to snuggle in, his head laying in the nest to look up at melody. "It's my favorite"

Melody smiled, enjoying the nuzzles "I like that one too." she giggled softly, laying down with him after she put on her necklace again, gazing at her gem for a moment she yawned softly

Arthur smiled and closed his eyes, nodding before nuzzling into the bedding. "Well go to the market to get some more food for stock later, I tend to nap a lot. Sleep well melody"

And that's it! The beginning of Melody's plot is done, and now she's open for interactions/ future friendships (maybe even a mate ) from other islanders ewe
