The best evil-minded dragon ever (: Not a stupid hungry flying lizzard, but an astute, powerful magic creature. I was waiting so long till the second part of the Hobbit to see the whole design of Smaug.

I am a huge middle earth fan, and I was disappointed and upset that he was a two-legs. But that's kinda my own fault, for I love Smaug so much and I guess a on screen representation will never compare as to how I see him, in my mind and heart.

Yes, Smaug the Magnificient has left his mark on the minds of people... In mine, it is the hypnotic, piercing stare of his eyes that could see through your very soul and the tone of his voice - timbered by his fire-breathing sack to be rich, suave, deep just at the right level, and yet also carry middle decibels that made it silky, as deceptive to the human ear as a snake charming its prey. The English version of his voice was authoritative and intimidating... but the French one was definitely more dangerous. There was no way you went on listening to his French voice without getting shivers of opposite reactions - anticipation yet anxiety, fear yet fascination, disgust yet respect.
Even though he's the top crop of the evil of his kind and I despise evil because evil hurts people and injuries are a bitch to cope with until they heal, I have to admit I love this dragon. It's not a beast acting on instinct, but a smart, intelligent being who knows how to use all his assets to be who he wants to be and get himself what he wants when he wants it. I can only wish there was a dragon of equally high power and wisdom on the Good side - now -that- would have been interesting to see how things turned out.
You drew him very well. I applause your fantastic memory for remembering where his horns are all situated on his head and the way his scales shape his head - it fits so nicely, it makes me wonder if you haven't actually stepped into the movie yourself to go do a thorough sketch of Smaug while he was chasing poor Bilbon Sacquet all over the Treasure Room. Did you?

The movie did justice to Smaug in my opinion. It just had a little bit too much Legolas in it but that's just me.
