No idea what type of flower this is.... it was pretty shiny though.Didn't taste too well though
300d and kit lens. Hopefully gone for a centered composition that works (full frame nice for that

Nice shot! I'm not sure of the variety of flower either, without seeing the rest of the plant.. I'm guessing zinnea or chrysanthemum, or even azalea....from what I can see.

This is absolutely gorgeous. The vibrant screaming yellow-orange with a silent core of green. Brilliantly contrasted. The way that this photo is cropped aids so much with the priciple of balance. I feel so much centered emphasis on the green. Was it intended to be so wonderfully composed, or did it just come out that way?

How did you take it? With the on-camera flash, or some other kind of lighting? I'm getting a 350 D tomorrow, and would love to be able to take some shots like this. Needless to say, I'll be experimenting to death, but I'm curious if you have a flashring, or those funky twin macro lights Canon makes.

Ah, okay. There's a creative way to do it! My 350d should get here tomorrow... For now I'm looking at my dad's film SLR, he has a 75-150 mm telephoto and a 2x and 3x extension tube... Trying it with the 3x, you can't see a damn thing through the viewfinder, heh.

Very nice photo, I really like macro shots. 
[And one tiny little tip about psychovisual correction, concerning the title in the frame: try to raise up the title slightly above the absolute center (and closer to the visual center), so that it approaches more to the image than to the outer edge; this way, it will look more balanced; otherwise, the title gives the impression to the eye of being "disconnected" from the image and falling down.]

Nice! The lighting on the flower makes it give off this great warm glowing feeling. It's very welcoming and works well with that happy yellow colour. Just one question, do you normally eat every mystery flower you come across?
