Something new before I sod off to Uni. God knows if they'll have my internet connection set up and ready upon arrival, so if they don't and I don't turn up online for a while, here's a parting gift. Note, they're galaxies, not nebulae. Half thinking about disabling comments, but half thinking I'd regret that decision. Just let me know how the image makes you feel, I enjoy reading those comments more than I enjoy the "hello here's some constructive crits". Art is about provoking feeling, am I making you feel?And no it's not realistic. This is how I wanted the image to be, and that is how it turned out.
Had some help with the satellite, props to he knows who he is

okay, out of curiosity, (and I understand if you don't want to reply..) is the bottom portion (under the sattelite) mostly photomanip, or did you paint all that? it kinda looks like you took a picture of manhattan, slightly desaturated, slightly sepia'd, and put a cloud image on top with some fuzzy erasing. just curious if I'm right.. I learn a lot just by trying to figure out how you do stuff.

Well... I definitely would like to see a scene like that with my own eyes.... it looks simply great. It makesme think about 'getting free'.... or 'scaping from monotony of rutine'.... I love the cotton-like clouds and galaxies add that magnificence touch that makes you feel smaller but welcome.... dunno... it's a great piece.

Alyn... in all honesty, this is the worst piece of yours i have seen. Just doesn't have the same quality to me as the others that i admire so much. Congrats on the DD and all, but i personally think its well done crap.
Compared to your other stuff, which is unimaginably good!

It makes me feel like..
I wish I knew how to make this. My whole assessment is based on the fact that I haven't spent the time to know how real or unreal this looks (or any art in any genre really). The only thing that matters to me is that it triggers that visual eye candy button in my head that makes me think.. 'damn, that looks amazing'. Realism has its place in art of course, but sometimes things just look cool just the way they are. Excellence.
