Old fandom, what happened to youuu? I was following and obsessing over this manga for 5 years. I never was a very big fan of Ed, though. I have a thing against shounen heroes.
I never managed to imitate Arakawa's art style either, hehe...
Anyway, I finished the sketches! Yay!

as a random piece of information, did you know that the english Ed also voices a guy in another anime called Peace Maker and that his character is just like Alphonse's and he has a little brother like Ed?

Yeah, lol! The teenage kid who is different from others in some way, has some kind of special power/talent, is very righteous and tends to give friendship speeches. And always wins somehow. And saves the world in the end.
Ed is better and much more intelligent than an average shounen protagonist, yet he still fits into this category somehow.

I loved this show in eighth grade. Totally obsessed with it. I still like it, but I've mostly grown out of watching anime (a bit sad, really). However, I had an FMA Marathon at a friend's house last month, which was awesome. All the good old series episodes in one day.... It was epic and nostalgic. Best way to spend a day, wouldn't you say?

Ed has something that makes you either love him or dislike him. It was funny when he was teased because of his heigh, but otherwise... don't know, I wasn't very into FMA
