really excellent job on this drawing! i love the shading, it is perfect with the contrast that you have. and i think the anatomy is also really good.

Hm, only critique I have to say is that the mane looks a little odd and the head looks a little small.

hah thats ok, it still looks really good...my scanner is about 10 times darker...so i guess im stuck to take pictures of my drawings from now on instead of scanning them :/

Hey, you can always adjust the brightness with picture-editing programs, like Photoshop.
