JW inspired me to try some new techniques, and I got some VERY sudden inspiration to draw Damien of MimmiMeArt . And you know what? I love how this came out. Plus I'm proud of the fact that this was drawn with only ink, without using liners in difficult places.
The background is graphite. And that's all that I used here xD
This came out very quickly and without special problems. I missed this condition when you draw just because you want to draw, not because you have to.
While working on the refs I started them with great enthusiasm, but closer to the end of the uniform details research I felt already too tired to enjoy the process.
Don't get me wrong, I actually really ADORE drawing all those small details of awards, military insignia and suchlike. But the research process from one ref to another makes me sick. So I'm going to take a short break and work on something else xP
And I'm happy that I decided to draw Damien as a start.

Quite certainly a very well made depiction of solitude and maybe also a state of gloom. The details on his clothing do showcase the direness of his situation, as it looks damaged and dirty, and a lack of shoes does also tell that he is not in the best of places here. As his background is only a gray field with a somewhat wooden texture, I assume it to be such, but it is merely a guess. His fur is also rough and dirty on his face, further adding to show his physical condition.

The background is something random. I was thinking about what would fit here and just decided to do vertical lines that would give a feeling that it was a wooden box or prison bars, something that would hint at isolation and loneliness.

Amazing job, I am really impressed with the crosshatching shading you did on his clothes and the level of emotion on his expression. To me he seems to be developing vengeful thoughts of some sort, the expression is really deep. Congratulations!

You think it looks like a new style? O////O
I didn't plan on changing it, in fact, but wanted to try doing the muzzle a bit closer to original mouse anatomy, the same time keeping it true to my style. It wasn't very difficult to do it because of the angle. Profile view is easy. I'm not sure it would look very different from my usual style if the angle was front or 3/4 x')
But I'm glad if this looks like a good attempt.
