Taken at the annual spring carnival in the small seaside town of Roses, in Catalonia, Spain (with my good ol' phone camera!)
I am not really sure what this carnival celebrates, except that EVERYONE in the town dresses up in the most amazing, elaborate, extravagent fancy dress and then walk the streets alongside about a hundred different themed floats. There were groups of people in 'uniform' fancy dress; the strangest was seeing about fifty Princess Fiona (Shrek) characters all dancing in sync to some spanish twangy pop music! Every float had it's own massive music system, blasting out it's own music along the street. Then afterwards, everyone would carry on the music and the dancing in the street and in the cafe's and bars lining these beautiful streets.

This guy was part of a "ballerina/princess/pink" themed float, but when he saw me taking pictures he minced over swinging his feather boa in an oddly menacing fashion...
