A light exists in spring / Emily DickinsonA light exists in spring
Not present on the year
At any other period.
When March is scarcely here
A color stands abroad
On solitary hills
That science cannot overtake,
But human nature feels.
It waits upon the lawn;
It shows the furthest tree
Upon the furthest slope we know;
It almost speaks to me.
Then, as horizons step,
Or noons report away,
Without the formula of sound,
It passes, and we stay:

This may sound strange, but have you ever read the children's story "The Giver"?
Because I took in that book like water as a child, sucked it straight into my veins and was provoked with thought. It was illuminating to that young mind. And in this tale, a community lives closed off from outsiders and emotion itself. The bridge at the stream, behind which the sun sets, is the doorway to freedom many will never desire to cross into.
In my mind's eye, that vision has always matched this photo. I'm amazed- thought the artist should know something like that.
