Drawing a Ferruginous Hawk, coloring with Pastel sticks and pencils on paper.
Buteo regalis (Latin, royal hawk), is a large bird of prey and belongs to the broad-winged buteo hawks . An old colloquial name is ferrugineous rough-leg,[2] due to its similarity to the closely related rough-legged hawk (B. lagopus).
This species is a large, broad-winged hawk of the open, arid grasslands , prairie and shrub steppe country; it is endemic to the interior parts of North America . It is used as a falconry bird in its native range.

This is absolutely a wonderful work! At first impact i think " this is digital not manual" !I love the shades of colors, the perfections of the animal's features and the expression! I think the best point of this paint is the right placement of the lights ! This make the subject more realistic!
The background is really uniform and looks away from the subject!
I think you have a great skills ! i'm a lover of traditional draw (but i'm just an hobbyst) and see a lot of great artist like you, made me ready for do more practise!

I've always wanted to get into pastels but they're so messy (or I'm so messy) and I don't have any space in the house for my mess ;w;
This drawing is absolutely GORGEOUS I especially love how you handled the background <3 And somehow the feathers are so crisp and defined against the background <3 The colors are so vibrant too!
