Description Created 4.1.2019
This beetle was completely from recycled watch parts and fastened together with lead-free, silver bearing solder.
The head is made from a couple cut, sanded and shaped black watch dials (faces) with brass watch pins for eyes and a cut and bent gear for pincers. Her exoskeleton is an antique watch dial that has been domed and cut with a jeweler's saw into wing shapes. Her abdomen features many different watch plates, gears, bears assemblies, and balance wheels, while her wings are a cut and sanded watch dial. Her legs are made from many different cut watch winding stems.
There is no glue or resin to be found in the piece...everything is soldered into place with metal. This is a one of a kind work of art, never to be exactly reproduced. Her dimension are 50mm wide, 32mm front to back, 24mm tall.
She is extremely fragile and should be handled sparingly and very gently, and is most definitely not a toy.
