P.S. About Sev's grey hair: Grey hair looks distinguished if you have money. Or power. Or, better yet, both.
Does 62-year-old Sev have money?

Seeing as both he and his wife are both on teachers' salaries, he is by no means a millionaire. But he is distinguished, respected, lauded as a hero and one hell of a DADA professor. So the power-thing, he has for certain.
Also, the Blacks are by no means poor (even the squib ones though by no means as wealthy as their magical relatives). Evelyn is a Black through and through. And once she marries Sev, they actually do live in a very nice, decent home. Not a mansion, but it's definitely upper-middle-class.

Of course Al Sev MUST be a Slytherin, just as Jim Siri must be a Gryffindor. It is my notion that, sometime during his first year, Al Sev does something extraordinarily subtle and Slytherinesque (probably involving Potions and his brother), and his housemates agree that he will no longer be called by the insipid name of Albus but will be known to all Slytherins everywhere as Severus Snape Potter.
Soren thinks it's great, Severus pretends to be affronted, and Harry is completely freaked out but does a half-way decent job of acting as if it's all fine with him. Best of all, Jim Siriβs head explodes the first time he hears his baby brotherβs housemates call him βSev.β

If Soren is a year older than Al Sev, that means he's the same age as Jim Siri. I trust he treats James Potter II in a manner that does honor to the name of Snape. *smirk*

I didn't recognize him at first--not a bad thing! So, Al's in Slytherin? Bit surprising, but I don't think that all of the family would be too upset. The epilogue gets a lot of crap for being forced, but one of the things that I found touching was that even though Al was worried about being sorted into Slytherin, Harry did the upright thing and didn't bad mouth the house. He certainly didn't push Gryffindor either (lol I have a feeling that Draco did a real hard sell for Slytherin on his son). Then again, parents can say one thing and then react a totally different way! [link]

Hmm... Totally not completely there with the beard. Goatee, I'd be on board. Beards... *shudders*

I thought the same, but I surprised myself at how adorable he could look with it, especially over a certain age (he's no spring chicken here).

He's a wizard. They live to be 120. Barely middle aged.

So he's going through a mid-life crisis thinking he needs a beard? ^_^
