Could just be my love of old cinema but Sebastian and Alec just have a more "classic" refined appearance that works with their characters better then the actors that succeeded them. No disrespect to them Hayden or Ewan.Β
I think the only actual Pre-prequal depiction of Anakin was this very foreboding Card by Brian Ashmore.

Oh, yes man -- love that young Obi. And I'd never seen the Brian Ashmore Anakin -- classic. There really should have been an entire movie in the prequel trilogy with an adult, unmasked, unwounded Darth Vader in his prime. Agree with you, too, about Sebastian Shaw and Alec Guinness. Those classic UK actors lent the OT so much gravitas. Peter Cushing and Ian McDiarmid, as well.

Very nice! I would've done without the Vader-like outfit and I think his hair would be a bit more unkept but this is exactly what he would've looked like!

Why is alternate Anakin ginger here? From some photos I saw Sebastian Shaw (as a young man) was a brunette. The hair color here doesnt make sense unless alternate Padme was a Germanic blonde like Luke.

I would have given him brown hair instead of red hair, but MUCH more how I originally imaginaed Anakin instead of the god awful prequel interpretation. Also he'd he'd be wearing lighter color clothes instead of black and great. Like maybe a bright red-brown color. Makes look more like a noble jedi knight instead of that teenage asshole in the prequels. But this is a fantastic pic regardless.

Great rendering! It's such a great concept, and I'm so sad that Shaw's contribution to "Jedi" has been almost completely ignored. This definitely gives me a different sense of what the prequels could have been, and it's so neat to see him in this alternative depiction.

Ahh thanks man! I think for a lot of kids who only grew up with the Original Trilogy the Prequel setting was really clear in our heads. So there's like the Prequel movies as they exist in reality and the Prequels as they exist in an oral tradition haha.
