Question: What kind of clay is recommended for this sort of work.
I don't know what kinds of clay are easy to mold and heated in a stove.

I've been wanting to make something for my niece, I've never tried making one of these. I was always afraid of the wire breaking after so much movement of the toy, have you ever experienced that? Perhaps you know the best wire to use that wouldn't do that"? Btw, this was a great explanation to a first timer

Oh hey, quick question; is there any particular type of wire that's best for this, size/material wise?

Judging from how pose-able you want your figure to be, and its size, you might want to use armature wire; it's sold in craft stores I think, and is lightweight as it is made of aluminum. If you don't have a Michael's or A.C. Moore near you, they sell it on Amazon for cheap enough, I believe.

Hope that helps.
