Tumblr post: rhearenee-magane.tumblr.com/poβ¦It's seriously has been a while since I did a bit more serious piece. It's been a while since I posted any art in general. In my defense all through April I was struggling through school tests, choir practice and other stuff, not to mention that I used up all my creativity on writing. I got a great idea for a fanfic and I just couldn't let it pass.
Anyway, since at the start of April I made a poll of which fandom would you want me to draw next and Teen Titans won, so here's Raven. I originally wanted to draw Raven and Beast Boy, but I couldn't figure out how. In the end I just drew Raven. I also tried to change my style a bit. I'm getting really tired of my generic anime style, so I want to change it up to something more mature of sorts. I'm also really not that confident with the background or the shading (I'm pretty sure I messed that up) ah well...
Next up I'm going to try and finish my drawing of Marinette.

Oh my. The ground which she's standing upon looks great, and its lighted very well (especially the brick/stone area). Your anatomy here is also great! I like that the gem on her forehead, and her eyes, seem to glow every so slightly.

don't see anything wrong with the background and shading... (perhaps a tiny bit more shade in the grass under the tree root on the bottom left? but that's a nitpick)Β I actually really like the tree branches..Β looks like another world, imaginary, reminiscent of a nightmare
and that glow in her hand..Β (you even thought of adding a teeny-tiny spider(!)

This is a really nice portrayal of Raven. Β You were able to make her recognizably from the Teen Titans anime, yet she looks more grown up here. Β The background fits well with her, too. Β I really like the way the brick walkway sort of warps under her feet and the brighter purple highlight behind her head. Β It lends a nightmarish quality to the picture, which suits Raven really well! Β Great work!

Thank you. In the end my idea was that Raven is walking through a dream of hers, thus the suddenly ending walkway in front of her.

I loved Teen Titans as a kid, and got so agravated when I saw Teen Titans Go. Raven and Beastboy were my favourite characters. Had excellent dynamic. This looks utterly cool.

Whoa this is so epic! Look at all the detail and the darkness of the piece it gives me chills in a good way lol. I seriously love the background it's so creepy and spooky, but at the same time beautiful and smooth. I love the way you drew the trees gives me almost a Tim Burton feel to it or Raven's portal into her mind feeling to it. I love how the walkway looks like it just ends and she might fall out it at anytime great work on that. The purple moonlight around her is cool too. I like the way she's posed and how serious she is looking I can tell she's about to attack something especially with those glowing eyes and magic. You did a wonderful job on this, I love it!

idk what I was really going for in this piece I just made things up as I went along. In the end I did decide that she's in her own imaginative world and she's walking towards the edge of it. She's serious 'cause she's on guard and hasn't realised that she's dreaming. It's really random, but I did want to try to draw a dark sort of fantasy background for this one.
