Aboard Shibori Station in Galaxy Year 3463 (3rd year of the Crystal War) Captain Zuzan Pontek (age 53 ~ and 39 weeks pregnant with 15 fetuses) watches her battlecruiser Donghae scramble with an escort of two destroyers to join a fleet urgently assembled to meet Zagesser forces massing near the strategic world Koshiga. Although an important battle would follow, Captain Pontek followed her doctor's recommendation to relinquish command rather than burden her ship's nursery with quindecaplets that might be born any day. (Of course many other crew members of the Donghae are also pregnant as is common in the Galaxy Fleet, but none nearly so far along with so many as the captain. Having given birth to only 6 children in the past 30 years, Pontek was accordingly surprised to find herself hyperpregnant after a diplomatic soiree hosted by the governor of the client-state Ayuumu 37 weeks earlier, during which the governor and five other men combined to simultaneously fertilize no less than seven eggs spontaneously released from the officer's ovaries. But on the bright side, the event did help to keep Ayuumu on friendly terms with the Galactic Empire.) To avoid being pinned in place by nearly 200 kg of extra mass in her belly, the captain is seen here with an antigravity belt to give her at least some mobility in the 1g field of the space station.
