Description In the Galactic Empire, most type II transhuman women give their children up to be raised at nursery colonies, but Rosa Del Oro (the woman in the red dress in the center of this picture, a wealthy space architect) is a partial exception to the rule. As with all transhuman women, most of her children are sterile type I humans and she gave those up to the Galactic Network for adoption, but she raised her own type II children at her estate on Janobul with the help of domestic robots and type I servants.

Here Rosa (age 105) is surrounded by four of her grown daughters for a family gathering at Janobul Skyport, 8 months after she and her daughters were impregnated by various guests and crew members during a pleasure cruise aboard her space yacht. Going clockwise from Rosa the daughters are Philippa (a physicist, age 51), Ursula (an Imperial bureaucrat, age 74), Angelica (an actress, age 27), and Ariela (an Imperial Navy commander, age 38).

(Although it might not be clear in this picture, Philippa, Rosa and Ariela are sitting on a bench which is mostly concealed as part of the holomural projection of space outside the skyport. Also, unfortunately, I lost my notes indicating how many babies are being carried by the women but I believe Philippa, Ursula and Angelica all have at least quadruplets which is why they're wearing grav belts to support their extra weight while Rosa and Ariela are not.)

I love your pregnant Sci -Fi soap opera with it's many interesting characters.I'm already a big fan and I want to see more, maybe a graphic novel perhaps. Until then, live long and prosper, and bear many, many, children.

Thank you.  Although it may not be obvious, my pregnant sci-fi pictures are set in two different universes (one the Crystal War universe with super-strong transhumans, and the other my so-called Karinaverse with more ordinary people); it's even more confusing because I have versions of the same characters in both universes.  Therefore, I appreciate your interest in the gallery despite the perhaps confusing content.

Lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, don't you think?

Indeed.  Since the transhumans typically live at least 150 years and are capable of reproducing for more than a century, it would be normal for them to live long enough to meet their own great-great-great-great-grandchildren (but most of the transhumans don't raise their own children so the future generations would be relative strangers to the parents; to prevent accidental inbreeding among parents, children and grandchildren, I would assume the medical nanobots inside their bodies would recognize other transhumans who are closely-related and prevent them from reproducing).  Rosa here, on the other hand, actually has enough wealth to have a domestic staff of humans and robots, and the personal desire to raise her own children and grandchildren, so I imagine her home to be teeming with children and grandchildren she would know personally.

I like your work. The lines are smooth and the colors are clean. Their limbs and heads are in proportion to their bodies.

I like that your women have nicely full figures (no pun intended). I dislike America's "official" standard of beauty, which requires women to be rail-thin and look hostile. Your women, on the other hand, are emphatically feminine.

I especially like the large number of pregnancies in your art: Few things are as feminine as that.

As a final note, one reason this particular image appeals to me is I very much like groups of pregnant women. This image is...erm..."entertaining."

I'm glad my art style is appealing. My first goal is to make figures with clean and simple lines and I didn't bother much with color until the last few years; but I hope a little color does help bring pictures more to life.

I agree about the appeal of pregnant group pictures and I hope to post more in the future. One nice thing about the setting of this picture is that the ladies in the Crystal War universe are frequently pregnant so I don't have to contrive situations where there are many pregnant ladies together (it's just a common situation in that world). At the same time, though, it can be difficult to arrange a group picture with poses that are natural but still highlight the pregnant bellies; so far, my group pictures tend to show the ladies in static positions as if posing for a snapshot, but perhaps I'll be more ambitious someday and show several figures in a more dynamic situation.

You know what, I'm really surprised I haven't commented on this piece earlier, it is simply amazing. I love the little back story you gave. The line "were impregnated by various guests..." is priceless. I would actually be very interested in hearing more about this Galactic Empire society you have going.

Thank you for your interest in this setting. I still haven't posted any stories set in the transhuman world, partly because I might want to include content which isn't allowed at this site; that's also one reason I sometimes avoid going into too much detail in my comments (such as the ambiguous "impregnated by various guests and crew members" line ~ which hopefully leaves much to the viewer's imagination).

Yeah, see, I'm starting to get a little pissed about DA's mature content stuff. Sometimes they let stuff go by that is just plain offensive, yet other times they ban tastefully done art/writing. There's a difference between violence for violence sake in art, and there's a difference between pornography and erotica.

I've thought about writing stories to accompany some of my pictures here, but I think I would prefer my gallery to focus more on the pictures than stories at this time (even though ironically some of my picture descriptions are so long-winded that they're almost stories in their own right).

You are mistaken, author. You don't imagine to yourself the future right, while thinking, that matriarchy sosiety will stay alive untill THAT days, untill THAT future.

Quick question; Is it their Goal to get pregnant?

But anyway, the arts amazing, and I'm glad theres someone who can use paint without making it look like a monkey did it.

Thank you. About the question, the ladies try to get pregnant as much as possible (but they're genetically engineered superwomen so all that pregnancy doesn't damage their bodies as much as it would ordinary women).

nice! i really like the stories behind these pics; the make the characters seem more real, if that makes any sense.

anywho...your coloring is amazing, as per usual...do you use photoshop? or perhaps another coloring program? i've tried a couple, but i get antsy when i don't have layers to play around with, lol...

Actually, I just used MS Paint to color this picture; I thought the colors might look a bit cartoonish but I wanted the color palette to be simple so I hope that was satisfactory.

I just like your clean and sharp drawing style, your characters' anatomies and looks in general, and the fact that the subjects of your art totally match my interests.

What I like about this deviation in particular, aside the obvious... I'd say the background, the colours, Rosa's outfit, and the concept make it stand out.

I wonder what roles Angelica has been playing lately. Is there a lot of work for hugely pregnant actresses in this universe?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

amiwakawaiidesu In reply to johndoeno5 [2008-04-10 22:29:10 +0000 UTC]

I would think so. Indeed perhaps it's unlike our world (where pregnant actresses try to hide or disguise their pregnancies for film roles); in the empire, perhaps they go out of their way to look pregnant even when they aren't.

looks like a backdoor(pardon the pun) to belly inflation to gain that wonderful, full look of being pregnant(water might be too heavy and expensive(you would then a real grav belt)) either that or a lighter fluid might also be used in conjunction with air. Medical means's to simulate might as said earlier be too cost prohibitive to be used and the actress might not want(for whatever reason them) to have a prolonged pregnant look that might be associated with medical simulations.

Then again a reconfigured(I.E. reversed) belt(possibly bing easier to get/maintain due to not needing to "carry", just "push" down a bit)might be used to simulate the "full" weight of being "with child(ren)". That might be the case for those type one actresses playing famous type two's(if its allowed).
