Description Gompherus, a species from my webcomic, Battle Kreaturez

Pronunciation: “Gom-FAIR-uss”
Type: Battle Kreature
Rank: B

Adult Size

Height: 1.80m (5’11”)
Length: 4.47m (15′)
Weight: 3.1t (3.4 tons)

Powers

– Superheated projectile foam
– Super suction
– Shockwave projection
– Radar ears

This herbivorous Kreature is covered in thick, overlapping scales that function as heavy duty armour. While its trunk is dextrous enough to pick up a coin, it can also use it as a cannon to unleash a double-barrelled blast of gale-force scalding bubbly breath. It will also draw opponents towards itself by inhaling with tremendous force. Feral specimens live in swamps; they’ll spend all day cavorting about, sucking mud out of eachother’s ears and hosing themselves down to wash out the parasites that get under their scales.

Cool. Kind of reminds me of how medieval artwork of elephants would always have these weird, inaccurate details like scales or fins (since the artists had never seen an elephant before and only had descriptions by merchants and exploerers to go by). Were those an inspiration?

Correct! It also draws inspiration from tapirs, bears and pangolins.
