Description More practice with real media.. decided to do Akita because orange and yellow are amongst the few prismacolor marker colors I have, and.. she has an awesome design and is fun to draw anyway.

Yeah, so I have no idea how other people scan in pictures and it's magically all crisp and flat-out white on the outside, and the lineart is the darkest black. Is it my scanner, or do people just edit them on the computer? Aah, I'm so helpless. I have no idea how to do practically anything in art since it's hard to learn from people online (I don't know any artists in person at all, especially near being into this type of art). I always just have to test a million different things out for almost every process of drawing (including coloring and scanning) on my own and I can never even really get it right. Frustrationnn. Fixed it.

Anyways o_o.. Akita © . I'm uploading another version (CGed in a new process I've never used) of this tomorrow too. But I think I like this a little better, despite how it doesn't look crisp and all that.

Try in PSP the Image-Color Adjustment- Brightness/Contrast, and play aaround with it until you're satisfied. Then, to get rid of off-white places outside of the lineart, use the Channels option in the Image section (I think) and move the two little boxes into the middle right under the histogram (this makes sense when you see it), then all spots slightly off-white will show up as big black splotches. Close the toolbar, and start erasing those areas with the eraser/paintbrush, until you're satisfied, check with channels, pick up missed spots, and voila you've cleaned an image.

You colored that with markers and pencil crayons? Or just the prismacolor markers?

yeah to get the Crispness
After you scan it in photoshop go Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast
and then in both boxes type +25

that does the job nicely .. i dont know how that handels colour tho ... and you would lose some of your shading as well
its really only good for keeping the outline black and removing the yeloowish of the paper

i just tried that process on your picture (saved it and opened into photoshop)
and it looks really good !! the colours are a bit darker but it looks alot less sketchy

Ooh, thanks! I did that but I don't have photoshop (I have paint shop pro). I reuploaded it here but how you did it in a different program might look better, so if you saved it do you have an image site you could upload it to?
