Description Here in South Africa (or atleast the part of SA that I live in), American comics are something that we admire, yet never really get the chance to enjoy them simply because they are tough to find. The worlds of DC and Marvel captured my imagination from a young age, and recently I managed to get my hands on the Justice League of America, Vol 2 #26.

The art style in particular (in the comics) is so exotic and appealing, I just felt that I have to adapt and master it ! So I started with some quick doodles and then...kinda got carried away

With pencils, pens and eventually copics, I started by directly copying from references of Vixen and Wonder-woman. I always feel that the best way to learn is first to emulate. I then attempted to put a little of my own style into it, so as to bring out a unique energy within these detailed sketches. What did I focus on? The hair! Why? because it's hard and prooved a worthy challenge . I also worked with the anatomy just for fun, practice makes perfect

Hope you like, coz there's alot more coming!

So much color in a traditional drawing. You are great at drawing human

You remember those copic markers I told you about -i was lucky enough to get a handfull (they really expensive).

They tricky to use, but they just require an understanding of colour to use, not that hard

working on hair is something of a mind bender for me xD that is most of the reason that I work with vector shading. You did very nicely here with the facial structure and and hair, you kept them lively and vibrant.

Though I do think that the Marvle and DC comic styles are beautiful, after seeing them not change much over the years ( except for the added cleavage ), I don't know, maybe a case of "Too much of a good thing" ehh?

I just like how pretty hair looks, although when workin with a series of works, I also vector it out and simplify it (I think you gave me the link showin me how to do it actually D). Well you've been around comics all your life, I've just been recently exposed to it-thanks for the view and fave btw!

Ooohh, love how smooth this looks! I went to another town recently, and found a shop that sells over-stocked comics for around $1! It's so weird what you can find in other places (all the comics in my town are expensive because they're mostly vintage)

Jeepers that cheap:, down here in South Africa we get everything with ridiculous inflation , but the comics are second hand so they about $2-3

Thanks for the view and comment!
