Description Okay so I have yet to get an awesome title for this work. But my topic was "Work". So I had to present a composition that shows work in some way.

Work:

Purposeful effort (mental/physical) directed at doing something thing.

Machinary/Industry seems to contradict nature in every way. Where nature is aesthetic and authentic, industry is artificial and man-made. So they should be enemies, opposing forces...

Or should they?

I believe that machinary is striving for a more "natural" way of living. Bio-technology, natural electricty, the green movement is small-but it's there. So it would seem that industry is trying to reach out to nature, attempting union of sorts.

So jea, my whole work is about these to forces working together, to achieve a form of synthesis . I focused on the reaching out and the transformation.

What do you think

Ojea, being the eclectic artist I am I used a ton of references. But thanks goes out to the model, she helped me out and supplied me with a great photo .Β

i think it's hard to expain our point of view about this pic , but it's also remind me of the big battle between nature and developement

I like how you included the hints at the elements in this piece - especially the awsome rendering of her forearm and hand. And as the icing of the cake I really do love the flow of her hair as if it would be pushed back by a strong breeze of fresh air. All in all, a very meaningful artwork.

Thanks abunch man, it was abit confusing to remember to put all those elements together-but it came out satisfactory

I LOVE her hand but I also really am drawn to the way one side is full of color while the other has that industrial look to it. It helps a lot with the point you wish to bring! X)Β

Thank you! Yes alot of techniques and approaches went into this drawing that I didn't really understand, but decided to do simply because I had a strong gut feeling to do themΒ Β -the use of colour was honestly a happy accident!Β

I love the idea and the colors of this picture. If there's one thing to say though, is that I think the girl looks a tad lifeless, as in she seems to have a blank stare. Was this intentional in order to make a point? If not, a more pronounced facial expression would do the trick. Keep up the awesome work as usual.

I really love this a lot. I adore the clash between a nature and urban setting. Also the character is perfect, especially how you entwined her into both settings. Ooh, I love it! Also I noticed how you use straight vs curved lines the balance the piece. It's organic vs inorganic and it's awesome. You get your message across very nicely.

Seriously, the only thing I can pick on is the balance of detail. The character is mainly placed on the right side, and you paid close attention to her details, especially in her hair. While on the right side, you have a very simple background. I feel like you could have done something more with that background space.Β

(it was really hard to critique this because I really can't find much to critique - it's beautiful!)

Thanks abunch for the view and words . I'm glad you like it, it's always interesting to see what people notice first about a drawing . I know exactly what you mean about the background and I agree with you . This work had to be completed in a 18-hour time frame in the presence of an invigilator: so I was pressed for time nearer the end.Β

Thanks again for taking the time to swing by and commentΒ

I think it looks great! I love the way that even though the piece is in two halves, the wind blowing through it connects it. I like the concept too, a bit more complex than your typical tech vs nature.
