I'm not good with making introductions so I'll start with what captured my attention first and go from there.
What made me picked this piece was because of the color. Despite it being in thumbnail mode, it was quite eye-catching. That's a very good reason for people to click on it and see it in a much larger view.
Now, the thing is, thumbnails are small and the person clicking it might be surprised at what the original picture will look like. What I'm trying to say here is, when I clicked on the thumbnail, I imagined a sharper take on the photograph.
The main problem here is that the photograph looks a bit like the hand moved while it the picture was still being taken. The berries are the focal point but like the background, it still looks blurry. I understand that taking a picture of berries will be hard. A technique my father taught me while taking photos, is to take a deep breath first and hold it. Point the camera and count to three while still holding your breath. The difference will be tremendous. And I hope this tip will help you as it did for me.
Next, is the overall look of the picture. Yes, the berries are the main focus of the picture, since the background is blurred but the problem I see here is that the burst of colors tend to be equal to each other. What does this mean? If the berries are the focal point, try to darken the background and the berries a vibrant tone. The Curves layer and Level layer will do the trick. Try not to move the arrows too much. Just enough that you will notice a change. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
Also, I see that you mentioned making a vintage effect on the picture. While effects are very good for pictures, not all effects can work on one picture. In this case, it is too subtle. To be honest, once I had a look at it, I thought there were no tweaks and effects placed until I saw the description. Doing a vignette will help solve this problem. And a color-fill layer. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
All in all, the picture looks sweet and simple. Something I like. Don't be afraid to do some editing. Like adding a glare effect or some shine in the berries. Or emphasizing the shadows more. Know when to put a lot and when to put less. It will make a huge change. Don't forget to practice and practice and do your best! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
