The people in this picture are my Grandmother (b.1940) and my Great-Grandmother (1918-2014) , daughter and mother. My Great-Granny had a stroke back in 1991, so 23 years ago. She partially recovered, but she could move just really slowly and was no longer able to take care for herself. My Grandma was the only one out of her alive siblings who lived nearby, and she visited my Great-Grandma twice a day, she brought her breakfast, then lunch and dinner, usually something homemade. She also did the shopping, bathed my Great-Gran, cut her nails, her hair, cleaned her house, did the gardening, and of course, talked to her. My Granny used to take me from nursery school and elementery school, so these visits took part in my life as well. My Great-Granny changed from a stick to a walking frame around 2010.

In 2013, my Great-Granny could not move her body, but her limbs. Nobody could what caused the problem, neither the doctors. So my Great-Granny had to go to an old people's home, 10 kilometres away from my Granny, because she could not be tended and taken care in 24/7 in her own house. My Granny went there every second day by bus, tended her, talked to her and gave her food, and motivated her, gave her everything she needed. Usually these rituals took 3 hours. We often visited Great-Gran, her sickbed was kinda like a family meeting point. I took this photo during a visit.

In 2014, my Great-Granny was hospitalized because pf pneumonia. Somehow we all knew that if a weak person gets to hospital at age 96, that won't get back to "that comfortable bed, to the kind roommates". My Granny had to travel 20 kilometres to see her, she was there until the end. She was there during my Great-Granny's death struggle. She said that God put the calming words into her mouth, because my Great-Gran was not able to speak at all. After 4 hours struggle, her heart gave up working. She died in my Granny's arms.

If someone asked me what true love is, I'd show that person the photo. 23 years full of empathy, humiliation, patience, altruism, bravery, love, convergence. A beautiful story of two gorgeous souls.

My Great-grandmother passed away Thursday afternoon. She had fever on Monday night and she was immediately transported to the hospital, which is in our town. It turned out that she had pneumonia. The next day it turned out that it is kind of benign, yet she got the possibly strongest treatment. She needed infusion during her battle, and though she did not get worse in terms of health, she began to see hallucinations. My Great-grandma was mostly a pessimist and did not really talk to her roommates in the old people's home, but now she was wondering whether she would ever get back to her comfortable bed, to her kind roommates... In the hospital there was no warm blanket or warm clothing for her. But it did not happen. She saw some relatives of her, her husband, her son and her granddaughter. My Grandma, as always was by her side. She and her two alive siblings, and her sister in law- Update... I don't dare to say 'quick'Hello there my dear friends! I missed all of you so much! It has been kinda long ago that I last came here with a journal, huh? Almost 2,5 weeks without giving no sign about myself. I guess that's sort of like a personal record, that I don't want to break in the near future. Unfortunately this happens when too much work (school), too much academic pressure, the grief, low self-esteem and negligence comes together. Pretty miserable, my mood is sometimes kind of billowy, but don't worry, I am not insane at all. I'll get alright. It's a natural process that every person goes through. If not, please don't tell it any psychiatrist. Thank you all who stood by my side and tried to comfort me, help me, simply gave condolences, or who was simply here. It means more than you would know. There are times when I feel that nobody could love me or appreciate me. Well this feels like - um, I don't like to swear - horrible. But it's good to get some, even a slight con
