I'm not hungry right now...
We're together, Richie and I. We're traveling around the country... He's always buying me yummy treats and costume pieces.
He's so odd but I love him. We walk together. I don't wanna be in the ball. So he never puts me there. We're happy...
Today, we came to a marsh. We went toward it. I told him I didn't want to go. But he said we needed to get to the next town where
the fairy badge holder was. I swallowed
*be brave for Richie....*
We went in and it was cold. I shivered and, for the first time, I thought about asking to go into the prison that was the ball...
We battled other trainers and it was pretty normal. But... something. --

"AAAAAAAAAAH!"

...

What happened? We fell... ow... I look up. The hole is tall. Wait... Richie?! I look everywhere in the small area... he's not with me. Did he notice that I fell?
I work to climb up... the air is different. The hole is canopied by red light... I can't see clearly through all the roots. I'm climbing for what feels like forever.
My body burns and I'm getting hungry...
Soon, I crawl forth from the roots... I was in a tree? I'm back in the marsh but... it feels... wrong. Everything is red. Except what is black... It looks like our marsh
but its all wrong. The trees writhe in ways I have never seen before. Looping and snaking around. No leaves on their boughs. These... idk... lumps? They're all over them.

I feel watched.

I call out for Richie. I wander about. The air is sharp and it is sour. Its raining still but the rain stings when it touches my eyes. I have nothing to shield me from this
rain. Everything is wrong. I manage to climb up one of the strange tree and -- I'm not home. The swamp is endless. And the sky is being sucked into this blackness that
seems to want to suck me up with it... And under the blackness. Something big. Bigger than I could have ever imagined. It looks like richie. But its missing parts. Where they
should be, there was jagged shapes... And... I think its watching me. I don't know.

"Mina"

Wait... I heard something.

A voice? Richie? I heard my name... Mina. Richie, where are you?! I'm scared and nothing is fine. Nothing is RIGHT. I wanna go home. I don't wanna be in this place anymore.
Its quiet... except for the sound of rain. Except. I hear my name again

"Mina"

Where are you?! I can't see you. Richie HELP ME.

"We're there. The monolith. In the center. Come find us."

What? Us? There's more here? But ok. I'll go. I'm so hungry, though. And so I begin my trek through this... scene. The ground sometimes squishes under my paws. Sometimes it
cracks. I swear that the hills are lurking. As I get closer to the monolith. I see the trees becoming different. Some of them start having what looks like hair. Or something...
Some of it lies still. Others sway in the still, stale air. And sometimes I swear the trees have eyes. But I look again and they're just those weird lumps. I find myself
having to crawl under a tree that seems to stand upright on its roots. The roots are like hundreds of wriggling legs, covered in the long wisps of hair that moves for no reason.
Its scary... but I want to know. I have to know... What are they? I touch one. It doesn't feel like hair. It feels... like flesh. And the roots open their eyes. No. I wasn't
imagining it. They were eyes. And they were all trained on me. And then all the hairs. All of them. They grabbed me. And they held me. It hurt so much as they squeezed around me
So I did what any Fennekin would do. I started spitting fire at them. They writhed and I could hear the tree keening. It all started to shiver in this sound that made my ears
cry. So I ran through the roots. I escaped. But... I'm so hungry.

I could see the thing looming close. It cast no shadow anywhere. I can hear Richie. He's close. But no matter how much I run, I can't hear him getting any closer. I can see things
in the sky. Are they pokemon? They look... wrong. I saw what looked like a tentacool swimming in the air. I saw things with legs that were impossibly long. They were covered in
the same hair. I could hear children laughing but it sounded... wrong. But I could hear Richie. He was crying. I needed to be brave. I needed to save Richie. I came to the thing.
It was big. And as I approached it. It felt like glass. But it was so hot. It almost burned my paws. And I'm used to heat. But I needed to find Richie... So I climbed up...
Then something came into my head. Something I never would have considered. And I looked into the thing I was climbing. And within I could see colors. The colors I had never seen
They were so sharp and for a moment, my eyes stung from them. It was like Lumious City Lights but somehow... brighter. But then...

I saw myself in it.

For the first time, It looked right. We looked right. I heard Richie. He was right there. But we couldn't see him. But we knew he was there. He said to me. We're together again.

"We are trapped, Mina."

I tried to dig for him... but my claws slid off of Richie's body.

"Spread my figures, Mina. I need to escape."

"We're so very hungry"

We then awoke. Swings creaked. The sky was indigo and dotted with twinkles... everything was wrong... Richie... Richie... We will get you out...

And so, we left. Our mask was the only thing of Richie's we still had. We left to spread his figures...

But we're always hungry...
