I love this art style. It's always Β been one of my favorites. It's those thick lines, they always get me.Β

Can't wait to see it colored!!!!

Oh my god that looks so good! And you did it with a regular blue pen? How long did his baby take?

This was a fairly quick pencil sketch that I went over with black pen (the filter makes it look blue). Β It took about an hour

Wow an hour? Enlighten me, at what point did you just start getting so fast at doing things like this?

Well, some sketches take me longer than others...something even simpler than this sketch could take me longer depending on my mood or how inspired I am at the time.Β  It's all about practice, practice, practice, and sketching every night.Β  Even if you don't feel like you're "in the mood" to sketch, do it.Β  You may be surprised at what you come up with when you didn't feel like drawing Β  Also, looking at books (or online) of your favorite artists is really helpful when you're not feeling inspired.

Hm now that sounds like a plan to me. I sketch often but not all the time. Specially not now since I've got a strange headache and my wrist just hasn't felt up to it lately.
I got a couple animation books and that little "inspiration" group on my page so I think I'm set on that.

Still trying to find a certain way of drawing things to stick with but I'm just not there yet. Kinda frustrates me and keeps me up at night. Don't suppose you've got any tips for that. :T

I think drawing from life, or drawing from images/photos of real people will help.Β  You can focus on getting the anatomy and structure correct, and as you get better at understanding the human form, and need reference less often, you'll most likely find your style.Β  You'll notice you can start "characterizing" the human form while still keeping the structure of the character correct Β  Again, I'm sure you hear this all the time, but it's really "just keep drawing, drawing drawing"...anything and everything, good luck!

I should actually do that. I don't know why I stopped drawing from other pictures

And yea I've heard it before, I even say it to most people who are trying t get into drawing but I was always wondering if there was more to it than that. Something about getting better that I don't already know, haha.
Thank you very much!
