The second part in my Twisted Elements series:Aeola
Element: Air
The character is a paintover from this picture I found of Hudson Leick as Callisto which just had the most perfect look for what I had in mind!!
Dark and twisted...
I wasn't 100% sure about the colors, but I wanted to keep it mostly blue because of the elemental reference...
And it got too cheery when I added yellows or reds....
Up next: Fire

I want to say Imaginefx but I could be wrong. I know some of your work was on the disk that came with the magazine and then I might of seen this particuler painting when I google your imagines. I dont remember but I still think there great and inspiring. Do you use models? How long does a painting take you to finish? How did you get your work exposed? Is there any advice you can give me on mine? If you can let me know, if not your still one of my favorites.

That's actually very well possible...
I was asked to send in some things for Imaginefx quite a while ago and I think it did actually run on a DVD..
And to answer your questions:
I use models, references or just my imagination.
Paintings take me between 10 and 40 hours, depending on the complexity or how happy I am with the results.
Speedpaintings I do in about 2-5 hours, but most of those never see the light of day in the end.
I got my work exposed by being on different websites. (Advanced Photoshop Magazine, ImagineFX, deviantArt... etc)
The advice I can give you is: Keep on trying, keep on experimenting and keep being positive!
A big part of it is motivation and willingness to fail 100 times before succeeding once.
Don't be afraid to try "weird" and "strange" things and techniques, experiment, try new things and don't let anyone tell you you can't!!
