Here's an outtake of my last artwork. Before I finished the main illustration, I suddenly thought of this humorously suggestive interaction and I just really wanted to sketch it out for laughs. It was good practice, as well, in terms of visual storytelling through subtleties in gesture, framing and body language. (I swear those little creative decisions can be so much harder than what the sketch actually looks!)Oh right, the mug — apart from the subtle come-on - is probably a souvenir from Varrick and Zhu Li’s wedding

This was actually formatted for Tumblr haha! Yeah, i noticed with some comics that Tumblr is not reader-friendly esp if there are complex panels. So I made sure this one had a linear format

Agreed. I like to think that she could express more easily to Mako because it was more infatuation than serious. But with Asami, suddenly she gets all nervous and clams up. Good thing Asami is the intuitive one who always asks how she's feeling.

I also noticed Asami was awfully clingy to Mako during their time! I would like to think it was more forced than anything. In my head canon, Asami, being raised to be an 'appropriate lady of good breeding', was hoping she could straighten herself with Mako because she was actually falling in love with Korra. Haha.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that was motivated by her need to make her dad happy. Once she found out the truth about him, she didn't need to hide her true feelings anymore.
