Really cool! I'm, surprised there isn't more crap down on the work floor on the other side of the craft, but I understand not doing that. You have a lot of detail as it is!

Amazing perspective and detail. You should be proud of this for a long time.
It's nice to see it isn't a purely digital piece. There are so many digital sci-fi landscape pictures on deviant art
from animation students, gaming design artists and conceptual artists that all look the same. You can't even tell some of them are different artists because the styles
and digital tools are identical.
Great work.

No I am sure it is like you said , "A1 (55*75 cm), rapidograph, pen, liner, promarker & other black stuff..." I simply couldn't figure it out how you get that nice soft diffuse light . My first thought was a bleach sponge and going over the area gently, then I thought well it is very clean no smears appear and Now I look carefully that other side ,far end is not open so there cannot be a sun ray / diffuse there , and I think it is only how your camera picked up ... so for real how did you get that
If I forget to say, It is indeed one fantastic piece .

So detailed. This looks amazing.
I wish I could draw environments like that, but I'm still learning.
Are you going to color this later?

Thanks. The only thing I could suggest for beginner is.. er... PRACTICE) I've also looked through your sketches - you obviously have talent, just keep trying~
No, I don't plan to colour it. It's time to move straight on) I'll start some new pieces.

That's quite an awesome factory. The level of detail is fantastic, plus it all looks very functional (multifunctional actually) and necessary. The grand scale comes across quite nicely, even before picking out all the tiny people. The lighting is amazing because looking into the distance I start to wince, so kudos on the extra special technique there.

I'm very grateful for your comment, I like receiving such thoughtful ones) Thank you! I'm not sure about functionality, though xD I did some special crazy unfunctional details, you can try to find them out*_*

Fairy-Slayer In reply to Andette [2013-10-15 02:49:51 +0000 UTC]
It's pretty common for a factory to have a lot of old stuff left intact and new things built around or cobbled onto it. The only things that gave me pause were the crow's nest on the big elbowed pipe coming down the middle of the main channel, the large capped boom/pipe on the right that's very close to the ceiling, and the round door to the right looks out of place because it's clipped by the main platform. That last one could be that the slanted area pre-dated the platform, which looks higher than the floor at the bottom right at first glance, but I think that's an effect from the lighting & shading.
The elevators on the right, with that large U-shaped cover on top, look like something from an earlier time when they were doing stand-up rockets or much larger craft with higher (or no) wings, therefore a much deeper "draft." In that case, the elbowed pipe was probably split to supply something to the inside of the ship during construction, and the floor could have been built over much heavier tracks.
Okay, the awning on the deck just to the right of center is probably just for fun. Is that the cafeteria?
All in all though everything adds up to one heck of a coolness factor.

Ohhhhh...if I could draw like this I'd never leave the house!
Except to get more paper.
And pencils.
And pens.
And rulers, I imagine you go through a LOT of straightedges doing this.
And-well...lots of other stuff too, I suppose.

Haha, thanks!~ I've used paper, pencils, pens & markers, but I took ruler just once at the beginning to draw horizon line and a couple of perspective grid lines~
It's weird to sit home( I walk on weekends and do sports*_*
