Here we have what the ancients called a 'visual echo' and a very fine one at that.

LOL -- Well, you're right... It's just that there's no story, no nudity, and no fanbase connection, so one wonders how a boring deer picture might go over. Just felt like I needed to paint something... anything!
I should be the one bringing you the coffee -- You are far too kind!

The way you are doing things now would call more for an illustrated story than a comic, I think. A story of your peoples and their greatest trial could not fail. You could do it like Gods' Man only with words on the left hand page. You are already drawing these incredibly detailed pictures so it would be no sweat on your part to whip up a book mostly out of what you already have. Then off to Dark Horse or Fantographics with it, the worst thing that would happen is you would come to their attention, they always need copy and not many have your skill. Just a thought, who knows where a little exposure could lead? I like reading your work, and I like very good stuff. I don't do this because my skill and stories are not there, I am not being consciously hypocritical, only realistic.

That's a good point -- Doesn't hurt to get on the radar if nothing else. Dark Horse is pretty top-shelf these days, but I don't know much about what Fantagraphics is doing. They used to be a little indy publisher back when there were a lot of such entities around, mostly in the 80s and early 90s. Most of them folded by the early 2000s and I figured they were among them. Apparently not: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantagra…
I'd like to redraw parts of that tribal deer story and maybe do something with it -- Maybe I'll throw it at FB when it's done.
Thanks as ever for your encouragement!

Heh, yeah, I did see that -- I think every half-way talented kid who's not into video game design wants to draw for Marvel. No surprise, I guess. Years ago, I knew a kid who was aiming for the bigtime -- He was an outstanding inker and I think he did make some headway. If I recall right, his name was Smith. He went by "Bem," but I don't remember his actual first name. I met him in the '90s when I was involved in this furry fanzine called "Kangaroo Tracks." Before the internet... when you had to collect contributions by snail-mail and cobble them all together at Staples...

That's not surprising -- "Kangaroo Tracks" ran for something like seven issues with a print run of maybe 10-15 copies per. Each one was individually collated and bound. This was the printed expression of a group calling itself the RooCrew, which encompassed maybe a couple dozen kangaroo lovers who (I believe) met on FurryMUCK. The latter was the largest furry gathering place at the time, basically a big furries-only roleplaying chatroom. There were some folks in the RooCrew who had connections to "South Furlands," an Australian furry fanzine that may still be in publication. I remember doing a courtesy trade with their editor, who sent me a copy all the way from Down Under.
