Huh? I thought a gyro is supposed to be a spinning toy thing that is similar to a Beyblade except it's not owned by the byblade company.

Yeah, in Voltron, characters play a cosmic version of "Dungeons and Dragons". Gyro was the name of one played by Shiro, he has en lack en imagination for names. (sorry for my awful english X.X)

I have gotten clips of voltron recommended for me on youtube due to some of my friends watching it, so I've only seen bits and parts of it.
I just thought that the whole gyro thing is funny just because I have watched shows about Chinese battle tops that get called "gyros".
