Alright, what's his big problem? Does he dribble while sleeping or blink each time he says an "e"?

huh? are you looking for a reason why he is too good to be true? He might dribble... I haven't watched him sleep. check out the bashphelt website: maybe there's more about him on there

Well you said "I think you'd re-phrase that if you came over here for a weekend, ha ha".
And I don't know if you realize it, but the "haha" at the end is pretty frightening

ha ha! Well I meant not all the guys here are what I would imagine people would expect, or find all that pleasing to the eye. But when you visit a city like Manchester, there are some awesomely cool people. I guess I'm just saying not all the people in my local area look quite as 'angelic' as that one... he he

I love your use of light; the flash's whiter tone on the face and then your ambient having a golden effect on the hair. And woo for Metz flash; I finally got the adaptor so I can start using mine.
Beautiful shot!

Watch out for the trigger voltage! And I don't mean for you! I admit it does feel like a baseball bat to the elbow if you get a shock from an older Metz Flash gun, but your worst fear should be frazzling your camera! I only use a radio (wireless) trigger now.

Oooo ok. I'm hooking it up via a sync cord into a hot shoe adaptor - is that how you hooked yours together??

I did indeed hook mine up via hot shoe adaptor, but unless it is specifically designed to reduce the trigger voltage to a safe amount (generally 6v for Canon, 12v for Nikon) it's a big NO NO for the majority of DSLR's. After doing this there was no noticable damage to the Camera (after having pumped around 400-600 volts through it) Nikon's are tough!, but after having taken a test image to check for sensor dirt, what I found was devastating! My sensor seems to have some weird abberations in the form of circles, and a dark line like a border around some of the sensor. This hasn't affected any of the images, and may not even be related to using the flash, but it's a bit unsettling. My friend plugged his flash in via pc cord as well, and he also has a D-70, and his camera is playing up, not releasing the shutter, and you have to keep switching it on and off to get a shot out of it. Not good.

oo that's a bit scary - thanks so much for telling me about that, I might have to find a new adaptor that's safe. I'm glad your camera is ok(sort of) - what happened to your friends is awful though. I've got a Canon; I'll definitely be keeping a good eye on the camera now with this flash.

Glad to be of help! You might wanna find out just how much your flash trigger voltage is, because come newer Metz models (like the CL) discharge a safe voltage.

You guessed it! I am chuffed to bits, and I can't believe how much exposure I'm getting now! It's like it's opened up doors... It's motivated me to get the rest of the series up, which are up now!
