Description Well, that's what it is.

Nice isn't it?

The weather was blowing a gale, sand was being blasted at me and the sun wasn't really in the best place - during the winter/autumn the sun is better placed to illuminate the mountain I understand, but hey it is what it is.

I like this a lot - at least as much for the foreground as the iconic and familiar hill in the background. I've seen a lot of pics of Table Mountain, but never before one quite like this. Which is surprising enough because as far as I can see it must've been taken from very near the home of my oldest dA friend, ~densitometer

Cool! That it brings nice memories is icing on the cake. Thanks for that my friend.

For me, the only memories are of pics, not the place itself. I've never (yet) been in the southern hemisphere...

Stunning, Darling! Absolutely break taking. I love the angle, how you included so much of the sky and the ground. How on earth did you get those vibrant colors! Ahhh... jealous...

Vibrant colours? Ah well it's been warmed a little in CS3 to bring out the feeling of the near sunset. CS3 Raw converter has clarity and vibrance controls that make colours 'op' out and this is a typical example.

love the golden light and how your bag makes a show of the sands movement since you've been there...

not sure i understand the last bit "my bag" ? but I'll say the footprints are my brother's who kindly (not) walked all over the place before I got there.

my bad - being blind i thought at a quicker glance (black with yellow details) that the bin behind the post was a rucksack bag...

hmmmm - footprints?!

Yeah the horseshoe pattern on the sand on the right is the remnant of one of his hoof prints.

I realise the intended subject maybe didn't turn out as you wanted but as ever you've thought of the entire frame; the most impressive thing for me about this image is the foreground, and its inherent colours and composition. Nice work...

Cheers man, I loved the foreground and although I wanted more mountain I certainly didn't want a camera and lens full of sand so lens changing was out the question hehe.
