these crinkles........
OH these crinkles
It makes me think about beauty.
What is beauty? my own feeling about it: beauty is, when all the joy of life is reflected in a face a sound a smile a place, anything alive. This is why I find some old people so beautiful. great laughing crinkles.
Unfortunately, I see that the beauty ideals vanish, replaced by sex-symbols, allowing only young perfect-body girls. Immaculate and boring .Very sad.
I see that you have an eye for the imperfect, for the intresting, for the living. My prof used to say: "ugly-beautiful is always better than simlpy beautiful". Not only this picture, all of your work is very honest somehow. Very touchable.
really, it leaves a warm feeling

A lot of these photos look like old shots from the 1900's. (When teeth and hair were bad!).

If I may ask...what do you do in post processing? Your portraits are absolutely stunning. This pic is my favourite, as he looks like a roman statue. Bravo!

No he is a lazy bastard who doesn't clean them properly, but he retired last month so better view of life to come - at least through my windows I hope!

Tell me this is HDR. This vibrancy and detail of this image are too fantastic to be otherwise. Gorgeous image, great character. Oh, that I could have such an interesting window cleaner.

no it's not HDR - i hadn't even heard of it when i took this - I said in a comment on another pic that i have recently tried it, but i can't get it to look right on people even when i process RAWs out at differing expos!

yes, the colours and tonality are too much of a movable feast......like how so many sliders in photomatix and any one can make a massive difference - i supposr there is no right or wrong, but I will keep practising...after all I have seen some amazing stuff done with it.
