Description it's a long story.....

OK, a brief outline for now: This is Andrew who is my ex-wifes...(yes yes, i was married) new husband. Well, I say new, but it is husband of 9 years now. He was the chief usher at my wedding to her, but when we split, he carried in his duties....;D
Maude is the generic name for mannequins which Melou and I use...based on a Julia Margaret-Cameron image of that same name.......(really don't ask about that!)
Shot with Broncolor ringflash and Canon 1ds

still like the Dragan effect here - I tried it on some portrait work and looks great.

great storie... and the "if you love something let it go etc etc..." thing... well.. not everybody can do that. About the photo, it sure has a lot of power in it, but, imo, it has a little bit to much photoshop.

great dark look - good thing you shot him with a canon, not a more effective gun... - bad joke, so is life sometimes

i've always am envious of how detailed your portraits are. the facial lines, the pores, the hairs seemed to pop out! your trademark i supposed. love it.

Well you must be a great person to have worked through tough feelings and let them go. Kudos to you. Very nice shot.

Life is far far too short to be bothered by such trivialities - if you love something let it go etc etc...

omg, he has such an intense expression around his eyes...

It's unnerving.

...but that's a good thing. Strong portrait.

Nice capture. (:

I love the way you can see every single detail on his skin. Every emotion. And that piercing stare... He's not looking in the camera, he's looking straight into my eyes. Beautiful portrait.

It's a marvelous portrait, but the little rings on his eyes are a bit distracting. Did you actually use a ring to illuminate him?

yes, it is swings and roundabouts....it's not distracting to many people but is to some.
