Well,strange that a picture of Sarah should make me leave DA as I'm sure it was a pic of Sarah that made me start on DA.If only I'd known a 'dark spot' cold cause so much grief.

think over all pros and cons, I mean long term pros and cons, not only temporary imbalance
I left Polish webgalleries because of fights that I witnessed there. Instead of constructive commenting, people gathered in groups of supporters and kept fighting with other groups or authors only because they dared to critisaze one of their images.
I do not like well known here oh-how-lovely-sweet-cute-image-ing but it is better than fights. Of course all should have the right to tell his/her opinion but long discussions are pointless, even if it would be only to save your time. It is too precious to try convice one who has different (strange? not fair?) opinion. Time is too precious.

well seeing as I am female, the dark outline of a nipple really doesn't do it for me, I think it tarnishes the pure feeling of the photo, it looks like a darkspot.

it's meant to, it's a wedding dress worn backwards so the half-showing nipple was meant to be a visual paradox - and I know plenty of females who love nipples and looking at them 'does it for them' - I also notice a lot of nipples in your faves!!!

I have nothing against nudity in art as long as its artistic, do you have a problem with that? I just don't think it was necessary in this shot.
and enjoying the female body has nothing to do with this photo, its not even a nipple, its a areola, a drak one at that which purely IMO I think the photo could have done without.
I see your point about the wedding dress, but it doesn't even come across as a wedding dress, I like concepts behind photos, but if you don't explain them when they aren't easily interpreted, they are rendered useless.
and a dark spot is a spot, that is dark.
I wasn't even sure if it was a nipple (areola) in the first place, it just looks like a distracting dark thing.

i'm sorry, i hate to get into this but i feel i need to state the obvious about art... referring to your statement about an artist needing to explain his work if it is not easily interpreted... a work of art can be very complicated and may be interpreted in different ways by different people. art changes its meaning according to who is looking at it... some artists (not only photographers and traditional artists but musicians especially) prefer to let you create your own meaning, therefore they do not feel the need to explain themselves. and why should they for that matter, it is art we are talking about isn't it?

I'm no photographic genius, I never said I am but I know what I like and dislike, your photo struck me, but there was one thing that bugged me about it, I mentioned it and you turned it into something stupid about nipples, when all I said was, I disliked that part of the photo, then justified that reason.
