I've been sitting on this image for months, and that's because there's a bit of a sad story behind it. Not "someone died" or "ohmaigod were going to be poor" sad, but "well that sucks" sad.

So back in the summer, I went to Bronycon (I had a temporary Journal Entry about being there, and an extended reflection has been in the wings for a while, so keep an eye out for that). My sister really wanted to go, I was invited to come, I said yes, the shenanigans ensued. One of the big things about the convention's occurance last year was that they had among their celeberity guests all four of the voice actresses behind MLP: FIM's Mane Six (and for those who don't care that much for MLP, yes I said four. Two of them pull double-duty on two characters), along with the woman behind Daring Doo to boot. I looked at that and said "Hey, this is actually a cool opportunity!"

I'm no stranger to meeting famous TV/Movie actors and getting autographs , so I though this would be an unmissable opportunity to collect the autographs of all the stars of the show. So in advance, I spent quite a bit of time putting together this image, fine-tuning the ragdoll posing and carefully adding after-effects in my usual clumsy manner in Paint.NET. Got it printed out in a rush at a UPS store before we left, and had it all prepared for signing...

Until we were looking up info on the convention website and found out just getting autographs from people would cost $20 per person, and the actress behind Twilight was asking for $30... yeah, no, I wasn't prepared to spend $100+ on autographs, even on an occasion like this. I had a budget to save looking for a Celestia plush (which I didn't get; I vastly underestimated the standard cost of custom plushies as well, sweet geezus...) The print of this image ended up string in the car, though I ultimately did part with $40 to get one of my Daring Doo books signed by the author (who was at the convention) and Doo herself. So it all worked out in the end (no photos of that, there was another fee behind those as well. lolnope)

So yeah, after eight months of sitting in a hard drive, I reveal this image to you all, a legacy of a dream that couldn't happen because I was poor and Irish. Such is the way of things, sometimes.
