Description Some of you may know that the L4D ragdolls aren't doing so well in the new GMod build. Parts of them appear transparent and render the model useless for any serious posing.

Well, there's a way around it. If you open each survivor's MDL file (usually by finding model copies off Gmod.org or something: [link] ), either through Notepad++ or XVI32, at the very beginning of all that incomprehensible text is this: "IDST1" Now, if you change the numerical value in that sequence from 1 to 0, the model will appear with all its proper parts again, and you can once more use it for posing! Yay! [link]

If you don't feel like you can handle the pressure of doing that yourselves, nag me enough, and I'll see about providing a fixed pack myself. Won't be with the models displayed in the picture here, though. Allegedly, they're supposed to have improved physics, but considering they lack a movable shoulder bone (something the original L4D ragdolls DO have), I'm not so big on using these myself. Mostly, I chose them for only having them on hand to test the fix I heard people said worked so well.

Hmmm interesting. I think it's possible to get the survivor models from the Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 .vpks using GCFScape. If those models were gotten and 'edited' for a lack of a better term would that keep the improved physics?

Like I said, the "improved physics" pack I found isn't as "improved" as it should be (why the heck would you take away shoulderposing?!) It's a simple enough matter just to take one of the packs off Garrysmod.org and add the fix I found to those models.

So, GMod has gone the way of "If it ain't broke, break it"? Ah, well, that's a shame. Good to see there's available alternatives, though.

Ask around with some of the GModders I know. That game and senseless glitches in everything from not-crashing to accidently opaque window textures are as common as houseflies.
