Amazing isn't he. He doesn't just manipulate images he also creates new images from different original images.

Agreed, it took a while for me (and quite some zooming in and out in the image) before I figured it out.
The liverspots on the arm holding the sword, the hands and the skull on the floor made me realize those details were from actual photos.
Whereas other details are CG airbrush.
I got curious and had that close look since I have dabbled with this techique a bit - recently I did a single one for one scientific publication to show some varieties of a species that had been discovered. That image - which when published were of a size smaller than a cigarette pack took me 2 weeks to make!
Since I have fumbled around with the technique, I do know what an amazing job that have gone into this image.

On his own site he will often post links to the various separate images he used to make the final image. He uses arms from one person, legs from another, head from another, etc. I joked he was like a Dr. Frankenstein.

This artist does amazing realistic work. In this case it is a total creation on his part. He also does great photo manips of supplied images as well.
