Description

► Trainer
Adrian Lyre [Nominal Human Figurehead]
Gender: Male | Age: 20 Years | Height: 5'4"Personality:
Adrian loves to make people happy. If it wasn’t for the determination of his Pokémon, Adrian would have never participated in a single battle. He’s become better at managing his own self-preservation, but he still tries to end encounters on a positive note. Hatred is not something that Adrian feels often.
"Flareups" is the best way to describe Adrian's odd sense of humor. Much of the time, he's quite serious, but he's also prone to short bouts of quiet giggling and snickering. Unfortunately, they aren't always at the most appropriate of times, but that's another story.
Adrian has a fear of dirt and messes that’s quite inconvenient for a Pokémon trainer. He tries to avoid camping wherever he can, but because he doesn’t usually stay in one place for long, he carries a protective tent around.
When it comes to his Pokémon, he pretty much lets them do whatever they please. He calls it “letting them display their natural behavior,” but mostly he’s too much of a pansy to firmly say no.

History:
Adrian was born in Lilycove city, Pokémon contest capital of Hoenn. His mother, Rua, is a career contestant. The shows themselves didn’t interest him, but he spent a good deal of time backstage studying Pokémon behavior. At heart, Adrian is more interested in Pokémon physiology than battling, but being a trainer provides too many travel opportunities to pass up. He travels often and has explored many places and observed many different Pokémon in the wild.

Recently:
Returned from an extended study trip to Unova.
► Pokémon Lineup
Ferris [Male Gardevoir]
Preferred Moves: Psychic | Façade | Will-o-Wisp | Calm Mind
Held Item: Wise Glasses | Ability: SynchronizeGardevoir are known as the “Embrace Pokémon.” They are renowned for their high capacity for empathy and sacrificing themselves in dire situations. Gardevoir are gentle, elegant, and serene.
Ferris is not those things. He is the opposite of those things. Ruthless in battle and a sharp tactician, Ferris is a downright scary opponent. He tends to push the rules of the game to their limits. He is at his weakest when he is most confident that he has won.
Ferris was Adrian’s first Pokémon. Adrian’s mother, Rua, wanted a Kirlia to enter into Pokémon contests. While Ferris enjoys showy displays during battle, he has utter disdain for contests. Thus, he was given to Adrian.

Idris [Male Dragonair]
Preferred Moves: Twister | Dragon Rush | Thunder | Outrage
Held Item: None | Ability: Shed SkinIdris was a gift from Adrian’s mother. The foolish young trainer assumed the shiny pink Pokémon was female. The Dratini proceeded to spend countless nights practicing human sounds and language so that he could eloquently express his displeasure, as opposed to biting his trainer’s face off. Idris is impressively narcissistic. He currently refuses to evolve on the basis that Dragonites are “unsightly,” sacrificing brute strength for appearance.
Alone, Idris is usually impatient in battles. In general, his strategy is to hit hard and end the match quickly. He’s a tank, but not as bright as he would have others believe. This leaves him strategically vulnerable.

Erk [Male Sableye]
Preferred Moves: Confuse Ray | Shadow Sneak | Shadow Claw | Torment
Held Item: Quick Claw | Ability: Keen EyeThere is no way around it: Erk is weird. He first approached Adrian while the boy was studying a colony of Zubats, then proceeded to stalk him for weeks. He offered gifts of rocks, gemstones, and clumps of dirt until Adrian had little choice but to capture him. Adrian has attempted multiple times to release Erk, but the Pokémon always seems to find him again.
In battle, Erk is fond of stealth. He also really likes to creep the other Pokémon out. As signature of ghost types, Erk is mischievous and views battle as a game or joke. Sometimes, his success on the field suffers from this perspective.

Lucya [Female Deerling]
Preferred Moves: Double Team | Substitute | Wild Charge | Energy Ball
Held Item: None | Ability: ChlorophyllThere was a huge scandal involving a band of poachers laying traps in a Unovan sanctuary. Lucya was found entangled and injured in one of the snares. Adrian, who was volunteering with the sanctuary at the time, was personally involved in her rehabilitation. After the incident, Lucya was deemed too tame to be returned to the wild, so Adrian captured her.
Lucya is more adept in battle than she looks. Her skill set focuses on evasion, defense, and agility. She fares better in shorter battles than those that are drawn out.
► Notes
Canonically, the usual pairs for double battles would be Ferris+Idris and Erk+Lucya. This is changed up sometimes, but while most get along well enough, Ferris is less likely to cooperate with other teammates. He's stubborn and dislikes "group work," preferring to do things on his own.
Idris is the exactly the same Dragonair as Isis. I just felt a marginally more "male" name would suit him better. Consider it a minor retcon. XD

P.S. I'm back! :D

I have to say, yours is one of my favorite Trainers in the IPL. Adrian is adorable, your Pokemon have very fun and interesting characteristics and back stories, and you are a fantastic artist to top it all off.
