Hmmm I guess I was going under "well if they're the main characters they're going to be shown last" rules even though the last thing we had gotten pre time skip was Ryogua and Kodachi so it'd make sense for them to be saved for last. And yeah guess we're now getting into those jobs that were polled about... at least months upon months back to see what the group has become. So if Ranma is the protector we'll probably find out what Akane and Ukyo became soon enough but I do like how this one was presented; just one little look and they know not to fuck with Ranma cause I guess he asserted himself to top of the food chain around here pretty quickly. Makes sense since sans for the four arm behemaoth that Kodachi's group had difficulty taking down seems like no one is a real match for the Ranma crew on Mars. So this was a nice way of showing that.

One can wonder though, what is more expensive the protection (and resulting damage) of a Satome security force or being a crime infested sector of the city (and damage from Satome crews inevitable battles).

Glad to see that Ranma's been putting his martial arts skills to use. The city was really in need of a vigilante, given how much of a hive of scum and villainy it was four months before.
Ranma must've definitely put a dent in the crime rates, given how intimidated these thugs are just by seeing him.

Yes, there was a timeskip in this story.
It was actually around 4 months. Just enough time for Shampoo to turn the brothel into a more successful nightclub and Ranma to become a vigilante.
