So part of what this page is supposed to answer is people guessing how he can afford to support himself and the two girls. Here's your answer. Another big thing, is that so long as the status quo gives them what they need, both Mousse and Ranma are willing to play ball. Mousse gets Shampoo to himself for the most part. For Ranma, he knows Shampoo is safe and taking care of herself. Why mess with that? As for the others...

I have a feeling that since Mousse has Shampoo without needing to worry about Ranma ("she doesn't miss you at all" while an amusing moment here is probably either a lie or more likely Mousse still hasn't told Shampoo he has encountered Ranma and co or indicated he never will) he's a lot happier with this general arrangement they've got going on thus why he's the one paying Ranma to keep it. And yeah I guess if Ranma doesn't know where the others really are he probably isn't going to try anything especially if he still has to look out for Ukyo and Akane. Thus I get this sort of truce the two have despite the previous falling out though then again from what I know of Ranma they've probably had worse and have still managed to "patch things up" for awhile anyway. I guess it's also nice to spell out how Ranma got his domicile as not knowing exactly how the monetary system in Mars work would of been fine just believing he could afford it on a bouncer salary but if this explains it better I don't have an issue with that.

Mousse is the one paying out and for the reasons you surmise. For Ranma's part, if he needs the situation to change, he could always say deal is off and go talk to Shampoo. As for Ranma and Mousse, this is not the first time Mousse recklessly endangered children.
