Preview Thingy

I climbed down the dark cave. Tyler followed me eagerly. “You promised that we would find dinosaur bones!” he whined.

“Chill out midget! There just a little further!” I snapped becoming annoyed. I jumped and hit the floor of a small tunnel. Tyler jumped and ended up landing in a mud puddle next to me. I stuck out my tough.

“That’s what you get for being so annoying!” I teased. He got up and grumbled unhappily. I got onto my stomach and started crawling through the damp tunnel. Tyler had always had an obsession with dinosaurs, ever since he got a stuffed t-rex for Christmas the year he was born. It was driving me crazy! I sighed. Why did Dad force me to do this?! After what seemed like 10 minutes the end of the tunnel came into view. “Finally” I murmured climbing out. I gasped. A few feet away was an entrance to a magma pit. I looked around and found a small bridge leading to the other side. Tyler took my hand a started pulling me towards the bridge.

“Ladies first” he snickered. I put both hands on the rope and started to slowly walk across. It shook under my feet as I realized Tyler had joined me. It started shaking violently.

“Tyler! This isn’t funny!” I hissed furiously

“Me? I’m not doing that! Hurry up or were going to be a French fry and a hot dog!” he growled through gritted teeth. I looked down at my hand. The rope was about to split. I grabbed his hand and raced forward. I jumped as the bridge gave was and fell into the pit. I got up and looked around. It looked exactly like a pre-historic jungle.

“That was FUN! Let’s do it again!” he laughed. How dare he say that when we were almost killed! I slapped him, hard.

“Idiot! Were trapped here with no way out and here you are saying ‘let’s do that again!’ after we almost fried!” I screamed furiously. I was seconds away from throwing him into the magma while laughing at his burning flesh when I heard a roar erupted from deep within the jungle. My mouth popped open. Fear spread across my face.

“What’s wrong?” he asked “If you’re scared of dinosaurs, your way out of luck! No animal could survive down here! In fact, I’m surprised this jungle is here! Plus dinosaurs have been gone for over thousands of years.”

I shook my head. I knew what that sound was. And it was nothing else.

“No” I whispered with pale features and another roar erupted from the trees “They never left……….”
