It seriously does.
I LOVE Hetalia, have since episode 1. Since, I've really gotten into it and it has actually helped me in History class (recently, I got an A on a project just because of the "America Cleans out the Storage" strips). It's a great show.
I understand that people have different opinions on whether they hate something or not, but how about justifying them before blaming the goddamn fanase. It's not as crazy as you think. Just because I like Hetalia doesn't make me fucking insane.
Don't like Hetalia? That's totally fine. Calling the fanbase a group of psychotic morons isn't.

I totally agree. I had one person coming up to me because I write Hetalia fanfiction as a fun hobby - and he's asking me for a completely different fandom story. I apologize and say that I don't know that fandom and don't take requests anyway, and it's a gentle "no, sorry" sort of thing. And then he goes into this huge rant about how much Hetalia fans are ruining the world.
This was my reaction in reality, but we blocked each other after that.

I agree with you, not all Hetalia fans are yaoi fanbrats( I like some yaoi couples, but I respect who don't ) but I think the Sonic fandom is worse... too many couple fights and recolours....

i hate when there are people who says we all love nazis because of hetalia, like who has say we "find nazis cute" I BET NONE HAS SAID THAT??!?!?!?
and some say "we don't respect history" like do we "re-write it" no we don't unlike some other movies and tv-showes.
Why people can't let us enjoy of our fandom?

Before I got into the Hetalia fandom, I will admit that the fandom completely put me off and I despised it. Why? Simply because the weebs of the fandom that I met were shoving Hetalia down people's throats. I did not meet anyone decent or "sane" for a long time. I never thought the fandom were a bunch of morons, no. But I really disliked the weebs, that was it.
Same went for VOCALOID, the primary fandom that I'm besides Hetalia. Too many misinformation and rumors that spread like wildfire. It took me MONTHS to try to understand what VOCALOID really is and such.
If anything, one of the reasons why fandoms get so much crap is because of the loud weebs that are driving people away and give a bad impression. Sure, it's very difficult to turn them into better fans, but it's not impossible. Had to do it for VOCALOID and did it very few times for Hetalia. But hell, weebs know how to bite you and be stubborn, that's when you keep trying or give up on those particular fans.

To be honest, I find there are many more what I would deem "sane" fans in the fandom than crazy weaboos. Though, my definition of "sane" is pretty broad. To me, as sane fan can have a crush on a character, or an OTP they adore. They can maybe be supportive of disaster art. They simply roll their eyes at the weaboos antics. They may not like the girl characters, albeit they have better reasons than "THEY'RE MARY SUES WHO SPOIL THE KAWAII DESU YAOI!!11" A sane fan knows that the show is a parody/satire/shameless fanservice and treat it as such. And they can be as open or discreet as they like with their love for the show. I've met more people like this than any other type of fan. Where are all these weaboos everyone speaks of?

Hetalia is one of the largest fandoms, we aren't all that bad. The anime is great, though fan service is kind of fuel-to-the-fire for the Antis. There are yaoi pairings (same with every other fandom), there is some smut (again with every other fandom), and most of all there is a community. I find annoying how over-rating we are to Antis. I do not find Hitler's actions 'cute', or World War 2 to be funny. Hetalia isn't the only historical comedy out there, so why must people have to attack an enemy that wants to make pasta and not war.

It's really a good anime and people shouldn't judge it, people don't believe this when i say it but personfications of countries actually do exist and even these guys are no joke
I'm seriously not joking, i have actually seen them in real life even to a point of one time tugging a guy who looked EXACTLY like romano with the curl and it was real hair.
Anyway ignore my ranting there but still i'm pointing something out here.
If people really want to comment on how bad the show is they can go pull romanos curl and see how much of a punch he brings to them lol. Apart from that its really good with it's history and comedy too. so yeah.

Hetalia is a good show and most people go through a phase of obsessing or loving it. But like every fandom, fans go through their 'rabid weaboo yaoi desu' phase. I admit that the fandom made me get sick and bored of hetalia and I think it is because of the age group. From what I have seen the age group that are into it are ages between 12-17 and that is when there is usally a weaboo phase and that is why some of the fan base is so wild. But then again every fandom has loud, obsessive fans but they all grow out of it (like I did) so yea. c:

Yay! I thought I was the only one who thinks this. I love the fandom. Its awesome and fun. It is not a bunch of girls who only care about yaoi. Also, most people who watch it start getting smarter cuz it akes them like history more.
