Future Versions Of Michelangelo, Ranked From Worst To Best:

1991 Future Michelangelo

Appearance: 1987 episode "Once Upon A Time Machine"

Although this Mikey is enjoying the rich, retired life, he is overweight due to eating so much pizza throughout the years and not exercising enough. He does very poorly in battle and the only way he can defend himself is bouncing his enemies off his enormous belly, as he demonstrated with Shredder. Plus he wears fake teeth (yikes). Seeing what he could potentially become scared past Mikey straight and he even gave up pizza for a while. Compared to the other future versions, this one is undoubtedly the most pathetic one.

2017 Future Michelangelo

Appearance: 2012 episode "The Impossible Desert"

This Mikey is a crazy old hermit who calls himself the "Holy Chalupa" and looks very similar to the Cryptkeeper (or at least in my opinion he does). Although he still has his ninja skills, his mental state has deteriorated over the years, which is to be expected after spending 50 years alone in the desert wasteland. Although he is a reptile, he has somehow grown long grey hair, which is very puzzling, not to mention somewhat disturbing. He is without a doubt the weirdest future version of Michelangelo, but not the worst.

2017 (Summer Short) Future Michelangelo

Appearance: TMNT Summer Short "Teenage Mecha Ninja Turtles"

Not much is known about this future Mikey. What we do know is that he is the sensei of four human kids who fight crime using mecha turtle suits, and the team's leader Jackson obviously respects and admires him, addressing him as "Michelangelo-san." We would expect Leonardo to become a sensei one day and certainly not the goofball party dude, yet we are (pleasantly) surprised by this revelation at the very end of the short. And although he is now an old ninja master, he still maintains his surfer personality, which is very cool.

2005 Future Michelangelo

Appearance: 2003 episode "Same As It Never Was"

Many recognize this future version of Michelangelo from the extremely dark SAINW episode. Although he has lost an arm, he can still kick serious butt, but he can only do so much on his own. Sadly, this Mikey died after being ambushed by Karai Bots, as Donatello had to witness in horror. He is very dark and brooding in comparison to his past counterpart, and that is because he has had to endure so much on his own for the last thirty years. Losing his father and watching his brothers drift apart made him grow up even faster and even lose his sunny personality.

1995 Future Michelangelo

Appearance: Archie comics "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures"

When he's not fighting crime, this future Mikey is running an orphanage (awww) and making impressive illustrations on his free time. While he still uses nunchaku, he can also fight with a sword now, having obviously expanded his ninja skills over the years. When Leo's not around to lead the team, Mikey takes on that role. What's especially cool about this Mikey is that he tried to hold onto a flying spaceship…right after he woke up from a semi-coma! You obviously can't keep this turtle down!

2020 Future Michelangelo

Appearance: "The Last Ronin"

After losing his entire family to the Hamato-Oroku war, this Mikey spends years training to defeat the Shredder's psychotic grandson Hiroto and avenge his loved ones. He now fights with all of his brothers' weapons and not just his nunchaku, and even after falling off a twenty-something-story building and landing on concrete, he survives and gets back up on his feet. Talk about hardcore! He eventually makes April and Casey's daughter his student and teaches her ninjustu, and together they fight to save the city from Hiroto's tyranny.
