Following the actions of its predecessor - the DSX-1000 'Dragonslayer' - The Tyrant is a one-off modified version, designed for combat with more dangerous Majestic targets.
Much was learned from the Dragonslayer's battle with the Human/Dragon hybrid BlackDragonScars. Despite it's awesome firepower, resilience to magic and learning capabilities, it had its weaknesses. Firstly, it was too heavy and bulky, making it slow in comparison with its opponents. Furthermore, its destructive capabilities were designed for battle with a single opponent. Its initial defeat against Black was in no small part played by the interference of the Xelziak bounty hunter Xor'ra Dragonis, an ally to dragonkind.
Seeking to counter these flaws, Majestic has completely redesigned the original machine to make it more fluid and sleeker without sacrificing its strength, protection and performance. Constructed with an entirely new alloy, even more deadly firepower and upgraded with specialist DNA computer systems, the Tyrant overtakes the Dragonslayer as the Majestic institute's most deadly weapon.
