I made this mask rather last minute for DragonCon to give to Joseph Michael Linsner, the creator of the graphic novel series, Dawn. Modeled after the mask in this particular image embodying Dawn's ever-changing phases.Shaped from leather and carved by hand. It was dyed brown first then loosely painted over with metallic White Gold so that some of the underpainting showed through, giving the mask its ancient burnished appearance. Painted with acrylic paints.
Joe loved the mask and refused to take it unless he drew me something in return. Such a sweetheart! I can't wait to see what he does for me.
Still one more day of DragonCon to go!

Ahah yeah dcon is crazy! Didn't do a lot of parties this year, for I am lame and had to drive home at a decent hour. Even still, barely had time to post this with tight deadlines for convention art events!
